Street Machine

Keith Duerinck purchased this 72 Dart
almost 3 years ago. As you can see, it's
condition was less than acceptable.
Keith performed the mountian of body work himself, and paint is now base/clear grey metallic.

Interior was re-done and is largely stock appearing. The factory seats were recovered  to provide some added style and a major comfort improvement.

The front suspension was treated to a stock rebuild, and disk brakes from a '75 were added to bring the Centerline Scorpion wheels to a quick stop. MasterCraft 215/60/15 tires transmit power to pavement. In the back, stock leaf springs hold the 8.75 rear in place, which contains a Sure-Grip with 3.91's and re-drilled axles.
Moving up the powertrain, you'll find a rebuilt 727 with a B&M
shiftkit and a Hughes 3000 stall converter. The boring Mopar tailshaft has been replaced by a GearVendors unit with full electronics to make highway cruising a dream.
A B&M MegaShifter handles gear changes.

Schumacher mounts hold a 400 block in place, which has been bored and stroked to the infamous 451 mark.
440 rods are attached to Ross pistons which manage 9.7:1 compression below the ported 906 heads. A Hughes 3844 cam features 572/576 lift, which is amplified by Hughes 1.6 roller rockers.
It's all fed through an Edelbrock Performer RPM manifold and a Holley 750.
An MSD 6AL sends commands through an MSD Billet distributor, and fine tuning is accomplished with a dash mounted MSD Timing Control. After making it's power, the spent fuel exits through Schumacher Tri-Y headers.

Keith has built himself an excellent combination performance and streetability. Tire shredding power and new car comfort have been mixed with some of the coolest styling out of Detroit.
Dealerships can only dream of having something like this to sell :)
