Thanks for the input i will look into them. I'm getting a little ahead of myself but if i want to install a sway bar kit and do away with the torsion bars, how do you remove them?

    Alan,
I finally got it done. I've just got a finishing touch for it. Are you going out to Pavillion tomorrow?

    Jim,

I got around to installing the mechanial engine temperature gauge. My car never ran over 210 degrees and cooled down to about 190 degrees while on the freeway. On a hot summer day, I think that would be very acceptable, but on a 60 degree day with a 160 degree thermostat? I'm still thinking I have some sort of heating issue. One thing I know I need to do is get rid of my electric fan temperature switch and wire the fan up to the key switch, so I know it's on all the time. Something elese that I was thinking of was the transmission cooler is on the right hand side tank of the radiator and I think it is transfering too much heat back into the coolant right before it goes back through the motor? Which would explain the coolant being just as hot or hotter at the lower neck when I checked the temp at the top and bottom radiator necks. I will probably install an aftermarket remote mounted trans cooler and see what happens.

    Hey Jim,

Did your son ever get his wedding announcement pic's back? There were a couple in there of just my car. Curious to see how they turned out. Will you be at Bullard & West tonight?

    Hey Jim,

How bout a trade? I got a dual electric fan set up in 07 A friend hooked em up and it melted a 30amp fuse. He said I needed to put in a relay and I don't know how. They were used for 2 months. I got new motors and a bought a new thermostate switch with probe, so I have 2 fans assembled with good motors in the shroud, with 2 temp probes,1 in the box, and 2 new motors in their box. It's the Flexilite 210B. The B= the shroud is blue. You need a mounting kit, and the piece of foam that protects the radiator from the shroud is coming off some, yellow weather strip adhesive should work. Everything= over $325. I want a solid control arm. I put a lot of strain on the front end. But I could send you the fans and say $50 for the front end parts. I need the large bolt pattern.

If it will take you time to find a set up to exchange I can wait. I have instructions, but they don't mention a relay. I can send you a picture later...

    Thanks,
    Bob

    Jim,

I read a thread where you changed an A body k member to accept a B/RB motor. I was wondering if that might help me because I'm trying to put a 451 in my Demon, which was once a small block car. The problem I'm running into is neither set of headers I have won't clear the center link. I'm also possibly trying to put elephant ears in, as it will be a bracket car and never see the street. Any advice, or words of wisdom?

    Thanks,

    Steve,
All you need is the upper control arm and the spindle (and everything that attaches to the spindle).

There are two center links for the wider a-bodies. They are year specific, 67-72 and 73-76. The later one provides a little more clearance because the studs on the idler and pitman arms point down instead of up, but with each you will also need the corresponding steering gear due to the size of the pitman shaft (output).

The wiring is actually easier from a slant car as the power to the coil is the proper length.

Hey there, Jim! I was hoping you might be able to answer a question or two, if you'd be so kind. I'm looking at a couple of
Darts (a few 71's, 72's and 73's), and of course I'd like to upgrade to disc brakes. In the case of a '70-'72 Dart, need I change only the UCA's and spindles and acquire the caliper brackets (along with the proper brake hoses and calipers)? Also, do I need a special center link or other steering component to install a 440 and have it fit without interference?
Finally, if the car has a Slant 6, I'm guessing the wiring conversion is slightly more complicated. Is this the case?
I humbly appreciate your sage advice, and I thank you in advance.
