    stealth CNC ported heads!

440source is now offering CNC ported stealth heads. i spoke with them about the heads and flow numbers are around 324cfm @ .600" personally i think they look pretty darn good.

wonder if they would be able to catch up to the indy SR max wedge 295cc 355cfm heads...

I imagine the CNC porting is being done in China and not here? I've got a set of their heads still sitting in the box. It sure would be nice if I could just send them back to get the porting done, but I have a feeling that's not the way it works.

    Re: stealth CNC ported heads!

You can send your Stealth heads to Modern Cylinder Head for the porting. You'll just have to contact Modern to see what the cost would be but I've had Modern port several sets of heads for me and the price is very fair considering how much power they pick up. A set of Indy EZ heads picked up over 100 hp after they were CNC ported by Modern.

Is that price per head or a pair?

    Re: stealth CNC ported heads!

Id bet that is a pair. Thats $1100 for porting.
I compared the flow ###s and thats an 18% average in flow gain.

I figure without a bench, I gained 8-10% with a grinder and $100 to my
machinest buddy who backcut the valves and touched up the valve job.

Still for the extra $1000, I will take what I have.

I could have gone to -1s for $2500 that were allready cnc'd

Did they have a price up earlier, then take it down?

I don't see the price mentioned in those links at all....

    Re: stealth CNC ported heads!

yea that price is pretty steep i think.

i would rather take some indy's over the stealths.

i guess it depends on how stock you want your motor too look and how fast you want to go.
