.890 is what I bought for my small block. I also have a 1-1/8 anti sway bar.
.890 was the size that was used in the 383 cars. If I were you, I would consider larger bars. A lot of guys with big blocks like the .920 bars, and even bigger.
We have run .890" in my son's Dart convertible and my old hardtop (440/4sp) with a factory big block sway bar. I am happy with the way the car handles, but.......
My other son's Barracuda (383/4sp) had .990" and now has 1.14" bars. He went from stock big block sway bar to bigger front and a rear bar. I never drove the car much with the 1.14's, but .990's were not objectionable and the car handled really well.
I will with something from .920" to .990" in my Barracuda convertible.
When I got mine the .890's were intergalactic back order from ma mopar. I when with the .990's and freeking lover them with the big block and four speed. Truly the best bar i have run for a big block A body.
Just my views.
i went to the .990 with just the 6er in there now and i loved them, pretty stiff at first, but after about a year of break in, they softened up alot, they are still alittle stiff for my taste but after the 512 gets droped in there, i think it will be perfect, i would go with the .990
72 duster, getting a 512, looking for a 67-69 cuda to put it in instead
I'm running the .920 bars in my Dart with a 440 in it. I think it rides perfect. No sway bars on it and body roll isn't bad either. I wish my Ram 1500 4x4 rode as nice as the Dart does.

I have 1 inch bars from Firm Feel, 383 block, front sway bar. I like the way the car drives and handles. Doesn't seem harsh at all to me.

as per jims recomendation i put .920's in jamies small block dart and it rides/handles very nice.
If it's a street car I would put in the .920 bars and a sway bar and call it done.
where is that pricing from jim? i have 920s in my 69 and i would like to go bigger.
Hi,
I bought & installed the 1" torsion bars from Firm Feel. I like the way my car rides. I would recommed them. There made in the USA.

I'm not sure on the MP bars. I just did a search and it came up with the site. The Firm Feel bars are from the Firm Feel site.Originally Posted by jamesdart
.920's here too. With the 440 (which my car has), I wouldn't go w/ any smaller diameter.
