Perty Lil' Duster

Tony Harter bought this '70 Duster mostly completed and has been spending much time
at the strips, slowly carving it into perfection.
Under the tail, relocated SS springs hold the stock width 8.75 rear.
4.56 gears keep the driveshaft at warp speed and the power hits the pavement with 28x10 Goodyears.
29x12.5 MTs are used for the street.
Farther up, a fortified 727 holds a Coan 3500 converter.

Interior appointments are standard "fun car" updates. After being excused for going too fast, the 8-point bar was added along with connectors underneath.
Harnesses keep Tony off the windshield
and the Cheetah shifter keeps him in the right gear.
How bout this trunk???
It's one of the nicest we've seen yet.

Under the hood theres a .055 over 440 with a steel crank, Eagle rods, and Ross flat tops.
Race ported 452 heads hold the compression at a respectable 10.9:1, and a Comp Cams 640/650 solid cam move the 1.6 Harland Sharp rockers
A 1000cfm Holley sits on top of an M1 intake and exhaust goes out through 2" CPPA headers and 3" exhaust with 2-chamber Flowmasters.

Best performance to date has been a 10.84@124mph with a 1.46 60'.
The best part is, Norwalk Raceway is 68miles away, and Tony drives the car there! Not shown in the pics is the 55 gallon Torco drum he has to strap to the roof to make the trip :)

Tony says he always had few old mopars around, but sold them off to buy a 94 Viper a while back.
As the ultimate compliment to the A-bodies, Tony admits that now that he has this car, the Viper mostly just collects dust in the garage....
Gotta Love It.
