Buy a set Caltracs or make your own??
« on: September 22, 2006, 06:43:52 PM »

Set of Caltracs are not the cheapest items to buy, but from what I am reading they do the Job. I did find the plans to make my own.  Looking at the plans and Caltrac pictures side by side, there's not much difference (using the right materials of course/good manurfacturing techniques).  My own car has been set up for street/strip with a 440 upfront - which would be the way to go: make my own or buy them?  Has anyone made their own Caltracs - did they have any problems and what type of quarter do you run with them?
Any feedback re: the above would be good, thanks

Buy a set be done with it. I know a guy who bought a set copied them then sent them back but really is it worth the trouble. Are you welding skills comparable to a machine. It is worth the money ? just to buy a set install them and be done with it. What is your time worth ?
