bigger rear end
« on: October 16, 2006, 06:08:18 PM »

Hello, I need a rear end pretty soon. I have a 72 dart with a 7.25 rear. The bearings are going. I would like to upgrade to a stronger rear. The problem I have is the yards around here dont have much in the way of  older mopars. What other  alternatives do I have? I cant pay 500 for a 8 3/4, so  price is somewhat of a factor.

depending on what levels of power you're cranking out, an 8.25 might fill the bill very nicely.  substantially stronger than the 7.25" and not nearly so rare or expensive as 8.75's (or ready to rock Danas).   parts are also plentiful.

look for V8 dusters and other A bodies as donors.
