Slider width
« on: October 24, 2006, 07:46:59 PM »

Hey Bill,
Or anyone else that might know the answer.
I have a set of Caltrac Mono-leafs and I want to
use your Sliders instead of shackles.
I heard the Sliders aren't wide enough to accommodate
the Mono-leaf springs.
Is this true?
If so how do I  fix this problem?
Thanks

I will have to measure my springs and then
find out how wide the sliders are.
Someone told me they wouldn't fit.
Do you have any pics of your slider set-up?

I thought the bushing size was the issue with the Calveert monos?  That is the reason I did not move forward, at least right now...

Well I measured my Mono-leaf spring.
It is 2 1/2"  or 3 1/8" if I use the washers like in my
picture.
As far as the bushing goes, I believe Bill has the right
size bushing for them.
If not I am a machinist, I will make my own.

It was the huge rear spring eye diameter that did me in, I had the spring eyes redone to accept the bush that came with Bills sliders, width wise the mono's were fine. Still tying to get the whole lot under the car, proving to be a real challenge on a car that already has the springs moved in, so far not a single thing is fitting, bolt in my ass.......
