These kits look like a bargain, and i think by reading through the myths on thier website it looks like this is some quality stuff.....plus its made in a country where people are getting more than 50 cents an hour!Has anyone bought a kit through them and if so whats your take on it all?Huh     http://www.440source.com/

Alot of people have used them man.  They seem to be everybit as good as anyone else.  No more work required than anyone else from what I am told.

I used their  4.150  440 stroker kit, everything checked out fine, no heavy metal needed to balance.
Haven't fired it off yet though.

they just dropped their price to $1199 and that's with any type of piston ,dished, flat, or domed.  Can't beat that with a stick.

I've only used one of their dampeners.  Has not broke yet.  As you probably know, all their stuff come from China.

My local machine shop will give me a stroker 440 for only a couple hundred more and I dont have to worry about having it done twice. I would rather use chevy rods than chinese anything. I can get any bearing, bore, ring, or deck clearance/gap I want just by talking to him...first time around. Welded cranks work forever IF the person doing it does it right.
How many poeple building strokers are making 800+ hp? Let me put it this way: I would rather have a well built stock stroke 440 than a import stroker kit. Lots of reasons why.

If I was trying to make a real shitload of power, I wouldnt skimp on the crank and rods.

By the time your done, your not gonna save much.

My machinist is a craftsman who spent alot years learning how to do what he does, and If I can help a local guy EARN his mortgage, I'm there. He doesnt know much about airflow, but he sure knows alot about things that rotate and reciprocate, and he can do a Carrier compressor and a Detroit Deisel in the same week.

I'm not the only person around who thinks that if you are using a stock block, the extra RPMs are less stressful than extra stroke.

Has anyone ever personaly broke a crank on a 451, even a cast crank? Not very many.

I guess I'm kinda fired up on vote day. I dont think my vote is worth shit, but I know my money is.

Im in agreement over the chinese part issue.....although i never saw anything that says thier stuff isnt american made,im assuming you guys have some hard evidence to support that, and im not trying to be a dick either.I figure this company is HUGELY mopar loyal, and thats cool but if you are right about thier sources then i too would spend more for having parts made by someone who isnt 5 yrs old.I ike supporting stuff that if it is made in a country that treats workers fairly and makes quality product, even if its not north american.Do you guys think its all thier stuff or just the dampers? My biggest concern reagrding price is this:My my 440 is a mid 70s block and has the cast crank,i wanna be able to bolt that bottom end into the car ONCE,but still know i can add lots over the years for power,i am re-assured that the stock bottom is good for gobs of street and strip power, but also told that unlocking power with lighter pistons and that also re-insures a decent bottom. So if i go shelling out a few bucks on decnt pistons etc.,is it not ecconomical to buy a kit that comes with a forged crank too? This is all just ideas right now by the way. thank you

I think they're Chinese made, but aren't they machined here in the USA?

100% sure it is made in China.  And I have very hard evidence (shipping manifests, which is public info if you know where to get it).  Plus if you call them, they are honest about the stuff coming from off shore.  I also have rock hard evidence that Randy's Ring & Pinion is brining in axle shafts from India, gears from Italy, China and Korea (thye, however, do not like this info being public).

I have NO problem buying from a country like italy,i dunno about the USA's rules, but here in canada everything has to have the "country" of origin marked on it,so at least if your pissed off that its made by children making 3 cents an hour you can return it!Thanks for the heads up on Randys though.

Not true accross the board, I run some mfg. ops in Canada now and have broached the issue.
