Yeah, he's not going anywhere anytime soon, but they should at least bump his ass to the sidelines and put a chick out there... Grin I hope the new version is better; I quit watching because Rich is incredibly annoying, and most of the contestants are your typical shady, whining Ford and Chevy owners... Roll Eyes

I think it's a great idea to run heads up for money. I've never seen a Mopar on the show because most of us Mopar owners would never risk losing our cars, way too valuable especially the sentimental value. But I'd love to embarress some Ford and Chevy owners for some cash.  taunt

Oh good, heads up racing, so the show is actually going to be about racing instead of just who can be the bigger cheater.

I've got some questions.  Who puts up the money, the racers or the show?  If it's heads up, will it be bracket style racing?  If not, how will they find cars that are close enough, to make it a good race.  Nobody wants to see my car go up against Bigcube's car.  Anyone could say "my car is a twelve seconds car", when they know it runs 10's.

You guys are right about the brand Xers throwing a car together and bringing it out to race.  We put blood, sweat and tears over years into our Mopars, I am not going to risk it for a Mustang that some guy threw together in 3 weeks!

Lastly, Rich Christenson is a tool.  Can't stand the guy.  When in Topeka, he borrowed someone's sport bike to run down to the end of the strip, and ended up flipping it over backwards in front of the whole crowd.  Glad he wasn't hurt, but would have laughed my ass off if I was there.  And if they ever do come back to Topeka, I plan on being there.

They called out for 9 sec cars.  There are 2 time trials, the first the scrore boards are on, the second they are off.  The dudes from the show pick who runs.  If you run way faster than your qualifing time, you are DQ'ed.  Wink

The way i saw it everyone that showed up ran heads up qualifing, the said there was over 300 cars there, then the second qualifing fun he used his famous drop start, every cars time was recorded, then they group the closest 16 cars according to you time shots, then 1st round was heads up for $1000 put up by the show, then you could use that money to bet with, meantime your times were watched when you raced, and if you went faster you lost, it happened to some Camaro jackass, so you can't sandbag anyone, then the 2 cars left in the finals was a best 2 outa 3 race, for $10000. I thought the show was awsome because you got to see some real racing, not the BS on the other show, and the race cars were top notch, not some cobbled up POS, there was a 64 Dodge 330 there but he broke something in the second round and had to forfeit. All in all I liked the show and I hope it comes back on soon!
