Got a price of $1200 for everything to change over to a 4 speed. This includes driveshaft, pedals, linkage, tranny. The only item that he is missing is the pressure plate. Does that sound like a fair price?

Could be. Is it really complete, like oddball things like the z-bar supports, clutch fork, a lot of little things. Then add all the parts that need to be replaced, unless everything is new, like the clutch disk, release bearing etc. Does your crank have the hole for the pilot bushing, can be a pain to get drilled.

Have not seen everything, but he tells me its all there. As far as the crank I have no idea. The motor is the original 318 from 1972. Any way to know without pulling it apart?

you cant really tell without pulling the eng. If it isn't,you can cut the input pilot a bit and run a roller bearing in the torque conveter hub

A-bodies since 1978, this one since 1983

That price being good is also dependant on the condition of the transmission and whether it is an a-body 1:1 833 and not an overdrive 833.

I've read about the bearing in the tech pages so I see no problem there. It is the O/D tranny for a body. He has one in his dart with 355's. 1st to 2nd is good, 3rd is a little stretch, but on the highway that 4th is nice. Also once the change over is done a 833 will slip into place as long as the input in the bellhousing and the trnny are the same.
