You didn't happen to run over or drop something on the hose itself? The liner could be damaged and it's snagging the inside of the liner and the wheel just keeps feeding it causing it to bird nest.Other than that,i'm not sure.I'm sure Tom can tell you more.

I had the same problem (and the same welder), but it was only with one roll of wire.  So I figured it was something wrong with the roll.   Make sure the that feed roller inside the welder is set up for the right size wire, I noticed it's real picky about that and won't feed right if it's not right.

Some cheap rolls are not wound evenly. You'll find more expensive wire, such as Lincon, is wound nicer. Try increasing the drag on the spindle that holds the roll of wire.

I've tried changeing the tip, its either the spool of wire or the hose,\ I think that it could be the hose it feels like it is dragging the wire close to the top when I feed the wire.

thanks

The defuser (thats the part that the tip screws in) came undone from the liner or the liner is to short, all at takes is rolling the whip on the welder handle or keep twisting the gun. The defuser should be fasten to the liner with small allen head screws. When it comes lose the wire will spin and if the tip is wornout it can spin the wire some too.  Now if you talking about birdnesting the wire, the liner mite be bad or twisted or a bad tip.Make sure your liner is strait. The wire must be clean with no rust.     Bent43

the defuser did come off the gun when I changed the tip . I will have to take a look at it and see if I can get it back to the way it is supposed to be. thanks
