Took the fastback out for a drive today
« on: November 26, 2006, 12:00:31 AM »

We were going to go to a local large park to take some pics, but there was a large high school cross country meet so we went a little farther (about 30 miles).

Yeah, it runs pretty good. Nice, smooth ride with predictable handling. Speedometer seems to read fast, but the road up there is a nice semi-winding road in the low foothills. We couldn't stay long up there, though, as Jeff had to work this afternoon.

It's got a 383/727/3.23 drivetrain. I need to get the interior finished before I get pics. The seats are nice, but they have been dyed (and need some more on the cloth inserts).

I'm selling because I need the money and I have the cars that I want long term anyway (68 GTS convertible, 67 Barracuda convertible). Jeff also needs his half of the money (since he put the car together) because he's leaving home to go play baseball at the junior college in Fremont, CA and won't be able to work. At least he has a free place to stay.

Shhhhhhhhhhh, it actually looks pretty good, but it does look BETTER in pictures. It's a nice cruiser.

Nice.  And that little lake/pond/creek looks like a nice spot to hang out.

That's Lost Lake Park on the San Joaquin River. That's actually the river right below Friant Dam (could probably be found on GoogleEarth). It is a nice spot that I almost never go to.

Hehe, I know what you mean. Pictures can make a good car look bad - or a not so good car look great. But I can still tell it's in a lot better shape than mine!  lol
