Topic: "Prelimenary" website up today! (Read 782 times)

Hey; thanks for all the great ideas on the graphics for the website! Right now; it's just a prelimenary website; but it is functional so far. I appreciate all the referrals I'm getting from other websites. If you see something that doesn't work correctly on the site; I'd be appreciative for the heads up. I'm just a novice web builder at this point; and as soon as I can figure out how to do some of your ideas; i'll definately make changes. (I REALLY liked the idea to click on the cars within the picture to reveal a larger image in a seperate window) Anyways; the site address is www.hotcarart.com Thanks again guys! |

I'm not very good at the narrative. I always seem to leave something out. Did it seem clear and articulate as far as the process of transaction? Trying to come up with a fair amount for artwork is always hard; but it takes at least 2 hours total for each car. I know this is a wierd question, but; do you think I should include more? (like an image CD, T-shirt, posters?) "Uhhhhhhh....yes Ken; you should include all of that and more for closer to 20 bucks" Gosh; I suck at business  I NEEEED a manager! |

since you're giving them the high-res image on a cd, they can do anything with it, I think that's a great deal. It'd also be cool if you could set something up with one of those custom one-at-a-time t-shirt vendors like http://www.spreadshirt.com/ or http://www.cafepress.com/cp/customize/ so people could order them along with the CD and you'd get a cut. I have seen a few shirt places like that in the last few years, but I don't know which ones are easy to deal with. |

Actually I don't even NEED a pic of your car if it isn't done, painted, or have wheels. Just let me know what year, model, wheels, and any other significant things like "Hemi hoodscoop", flat black hood, stinger stripes, etc. I can put just about anything together for you! clicking the "tune my car" link opens my outlook express which i never set up and i dont use; im sure im not the only one........post your email address where it is easily seen, or add a "contact us" link like i see on other sites  ......im clueless, but i know i cant email thru outlook......also posting an ad on ebay is cheap and great advertisement and exposure; i always see car art when i look for parts; ive even bought a few things. |

Good idea. I forgot that alot of people don't use Outlook Express. I'll change that immediately. Thanks  I've looked at the "hot rod art" section of EBay and I hardly ever see and sales. I think it's just that there are so many! I'm kinda waiting to see what kind of responce I'll get through internet ads. If it's not many; I may go for National Dragster exposure or Mopar Muscle (for mass produced pics) |

yeah, like hotwheels says, that's a very cool idea ^^ I'd just recommend keeping a page of previous work for people to see, just make sure you watermark them and make them low rez, so you don't miss out on a sale because someone uses something you already have!  |

Looks good so far, but the graphic is too big. A lot of people run at 600x800 resolution. I always use that as a guideline. If you really wanted to fill the screen, you can make two different size images and there's some code that will bring up a different image depending on the user's resolution. I don't know the code offhand, but if you want it, I'll look it up.
