My Loan went through..
« on: December 01, 2006, 07:37:46 PM »

My Loan went through today. I move back to my house on Jan 1. Pretty happy but 550k in debt. My cars will be back in a dry garage. santa4

Congratulations, I hope you enjoy, I know your cars will.  I've forgotten about the price of housing in Ca.

Yeah that is cheap where I live. you can't buy a fixer for less then 600k. O and mine is a town house... But I live in a really nice area with the beach 10 minutes away, snow 3 hours away, dirt biking 2 hours away. Sears point is 20 minutes from my house.

I guess I'm spoiled, around here 200k will get you a 3500 sq foot house, 500K will get you 5000 sq feet and 5+ acres! I paid 53k for mine, about 1500 sq ft with a big garage, 3/4 acre of land.  I know the cost of housing can vary drasticly... but I seriously wonder how people can afford a $2000-3000 mortgage?  I guess I like to spend too much $ on other things  hammer Congrats again

I have lived in both mill valley and the cheap-ass south,I'll take mill valley any day.And for the guys that think 550k is alot, let me remind you that some of the junk out here appreciates around 8 to 10% a year.that's is more in  equity than most guys earn in salary. santa4
glad to hear you and your cars have a home.

Congrats!

And that does sound expensive. Here in my area, most homes around 18-1900 sq. ft., have a decent yard, a pool, and go for $290-380k.  My parents bought their house new in the late '80s for $120k, and it was appraised this year at $323k.
