It's still the "stupid black car"
|
Work continues on the overhaul of my dart. Here's the 470 ready to be installed. Here's a detail picture of the plate under the intake. Instead of using the valley pan. This picture shows the awesome tig welding of the plate to the bottom of the intake. Here's a picture of the dart finally on the ground with the front end, disc brakes all around, and new wheels.

That tig job is very cool. Is that common for sealing the valley? I have never seen it 'cause I am usually at the car shows rather than the strip.

I don't know! 540dust did it once on a 440 he built. So we decided to do it on this build. I have seen seal plates but none other than this one and 540dust's where it was welded. Here's a picture of the gauge panel I made to cover the heater and radio openings. This picture shows the front kickers I installed. The bars go thru the firewall and weld to the A-piller bar. I also boxed welded them to the shock towers and to the firewall. I spent most of this summer practicing welding. I hadn't welded that much other than in college until this summer.
