Mine is 4x4. I will be parking it for the winter soon. Before it snows. I have a little over 540 miles on it so far. The ownersmanual, says to put 500 miles on it before towing. Really great power!! I can't wait for spring to tow with it.

Nice.  What's the MPG with these diesels on the highway.  Trips to my parents house are a killer with the old dodge pu, they're 300 miles away.

It should do 20-22 on the highway, but that's also bone stock and no hills in the area..

Thanks for the compliments.. It says when it reaches 10,000 miles it should get better power/mpg and after 500 we can tow... Later on this week the stock bed liner is coming out for a Rhino lining, Step bars are being put on, and clearence lights put on.

Daimler Chrysler is selling the Ram here, just 2500 models, all 4X4, regular or crewl cab. Only with the Cummins, no Hemi. Around US$ 70,000. Wish I coulkd get a new one, but it is out of my pocket's reach. I still have my 94, 2500 V10, love the truck. In a week i'll go for a long long almost 2000 miles trip aronud the country to pic some engines and some car parts. The V10 is a little rough on gas, but the truck is cool, cannot even think in trading the truck for another one diesel powered. Got it in 2001, to retire the older 1971 D100, that is on the shop today for a new paint job.

  Nice truck D D.

i am in the market for the excab 2500 cummins..
i also want it in 2wd version..
i have to ask...you guys...?
how the 2wd ride is compared to the 4x4.?
i drove my brothers 05 4x4 2500 cummins excab back from Carlisle to new jersey.
over the summer...
about an hour or 2 of driving ....mostly highway..
i loved everything about its characteristics except the super stiff
4x4 suspension.. also considering the rough Pa. turnpike and Jersey roads.
like 3" expansion joints and creater potholes..
it seeemed very Jolt-ey ---or stiff.
now i understand the heavy duty-ness...
wich  comes with this type of truck..
i have a gmc  gas burner right now..
its not 4x4....but it drives pretty nice as far as the shock you
feel from bumps...
also i live in georgia...so the roads are very smooth in comparision.
i dont need the 4x4 for what i do...but around here finding the 2wd version
is much harder to come by..
so ive been considering getting the 4x4..
but if the 2wd 2500 is NOTICEABLY better driving i will hold out for it.
ive never drivin a 2wd version..
so id like to hear about any comparisons..you guys may have
or feedback.
i tow 3 days a week with my truck...and need the 2500 so thats
not an option...i can change...
anyone have any seat of the pants opinions?
Deadly dart...i didnt mean to high jack..but you got me thinking..
