Hey fasttcars what are you running for front suspension on that valiant? If you sectioned the floor and moved the crossmember up to drop the stance in the rear what did you do to even the stance in the front. That low look is pretty nice.Got me think'n.Just curious.I guess you could actually go too low and you would end up with your front end higher than the rear. That would look nice.(if it was a 64 impala).

well i'm all for low look i love how wheels get tucked up in the wheel well.....my 66 coronet is 5in lower to the ground then my valiant but that's serious mod's........on my valiant i originally cranked the torsion bars all the way down.....but i noticed the front end wasn't stiff enough for when i hit bumps the car would bounce down a little to much...so i went with coilover shock's in the front and removed the torsion bar's...but then my car really bounced....so i added the torsion bar's back in.....and custoum mounted the coilover's as low as possible on the spindle mount...now witout having the casr body dropped like my coronet it's the max low to go...and i use a stock capacity oil pan[and after a 110mph in counter with a big bump, pushing in my oil pan]....i aded a skid plate the hole under length of the pan.....also because it's was so low top od the tire to inner fenderweel clearence was an issue..........the coronet is on 15's right know and the valiant has 18's but look how much more the wheel lip cover's the 15's.plus 14x32on15's in the back.....in will be getting 20's in the front later ...and 22's in the back......for street cruizing...

my original plan was to skip the spring relocation all together and go ro the ladder bar and coil over kit from S&W, keeping the stock rails. i decided to leave that for an upgrade down the road and just went with the offset hangers and lift bars for now. i got the stuff dirt cheap so i want to at least try it. when i do that im going to cut a few inches off the frame rails and run longer frame connectors, mounting the ladder bar crossmember directly to the frame connectors.

I am in the process of installing ladder bars/coil over shocks on my 71 Dart.

I first installed frame connectors using 2x3 square tubing. The front ladder bar mounts are on the frame rail.

Just deciding whether to minitub the car or go to aftermarket tubs.

I use Strange Engineering S5006 shocks. They are 17.15" extended and 11.64" collapsed. 13.875-14.5" is the recommended ride hieght. I have set to the lower end of that. They use a 12" coil spring. I have 120 Hypercoils on mine but my car weighs 3480..

71 demon child, if your looking for big wheels on the cheap, look into the factory 18s off the new hemi cars. i have a set on my car and i really like them. i wish they were wider, but i think they look good. 18x7.5(i think) and 4.5 on 5.

I'll keep that in mind.I'm looking to wider more than i am taller.Although with the right wheel those big ones look killer.7.5 definitely not gonna cut it.I'll probably be in the 10.0 range.Although i have a long way to go and i'm going nowhere fast. One day i'll hit the lottery .A little at a time.

Yep the car currently weighs 3480..That is with 180 lbs of ballast and me of course. Still has all the glass in it and working, wipers and full interior still. Only fiberglass is hood and bumpers. Trying to run 8's at that weight aint easy
