how big of a wheel spacer is safe for street use? how much clearane is required for radial tires?
I have read the tech page on back spacing. but still had some questions specs for the car is : 1972 swinger it is mini tubbed w 3" studs on the rear axles has 8" clearance from the hub face to the frame/tub has 6.25" clearane from the hub face to the lip of the Quarter
I was looking at some 17x10.5 rims with 315-35-17 tires on them with 6.85" bs by 1my measurement the tires are about12.5 total width will these fit with a spacer or will the spacer be too thick. the price is right but I cant try them on

If you look in the tech section i do believe they fit a 12.5 " tire in the wheel well with widening the wells. Not sure what backspacing they used.Take a look it'll probably get you close

I was looking at the specs of the tires form nitto and they say that they have a section width of 12.13 inches. it looks like a 1/2 spacer will give me about 7/8 on the inside and 1 1/4 on the out side
how bad wuld it be to run a 1/2 inch spacer and a 1/8 inch spacer together? or is there someplace out there that will make a custom wheel space to fit?
