What do you look for that makes the Swinger different from the standard Dart or the GT?

The Dart Swinger name first appeared in 1969 (Swinger and Swinger 340). The VIN will tell the story, though. Have you found one that needs checking out?

I bought a 70 dart from a guy who told me it was a swinger. I took his word for it, but I feel like I should check it out to make sure. What in the VIN tells what it is?

http://www.moparts.com/Tech/Go here and download the VIN decoder.....if I remember correctly it's the price code that denotes if it's a Swinger, Custom, GT, etc. I've had 3 Swingers, and the VINs all started with LL23.

I don't think the price code determines it My Swinger is LH23- and a parts car swinger with LM23 high and medium- I think the swinger was more of an option package I believe.

The price class DOES determine it, BUT it might be different in different years, plus the Swinger 340 had a different price class than a plain Swinger.
