Got the trunk floor in...
« on: January 28, 2007, 08:04:28 PM »

Slowly but surely getting the Scamp back together.  Got the trunk floor/ fuel cell sump done today.  Good news is I can stand in it with no problem, the bad news is it ended up weighing alot.  I off set it to the p/s side and moved it forward quite abit to help with the center of gravity and for room for the exhaust.  Looks like I should have enough room to run the single exhaust like I wanted.  Hopefully the Dana should be here this week or early next week.

wow that is a lot of welding around 50 feet worth including the tub mods.

you mention single exhaust, are you going to use a turbo?

anyways looks good and the weight is in the right spot even if it is heavy.

Yeah, this car def. has alot of weld in it.  Especially considering it had zero rust.  Between the floor and torsion bar crossmember re-making for the Tko-600, subframe connectors, fully welding most of all the factory seams, mini tubs, trunk modifcations for fuel cell, spring re-location....
Around 3 spools of weld and 3 tanks of gas.

I am going to be running a F-1 Procharger (supercharger).  I want to run single exhaust out the back to the bumper, around 4 - 4 1/2".  I have to wait till I get the Dana in before I decide if it possible to do the 4 1/2".

Well I don't have any current pictures of the engine bay.  But I have some from when I started this venture of the car.  The supercharger stuff has been in boxes for a year and a half waiting on Ma Mopar to send me my R3 block I have on order.
This weekend I am going to finish up a few small details, the Dana will be here next week.  Then it's back to have the roll bar tied to the subframe connectors and also the diagnoal bar put in that is required by scca.  Then its going to be re-painted top to bottom, new vinyl top installed, then I can install all the front and rear suspension and brake goodies I got from Bill.  Then wait for the block somemore...

The AAR is an automatic.  It's a slow-poke.  We run it in the F.A.S.T. class.  Took it out one time last year due to a Shubeck Lifter breaking and Joe Shubeck running his business like a complete ass.  Best e.t. to date 11.70 @ 118mph.  Which I guess isn't too bad considering it's the second fastest recorded F.A.S.T. legal smallblock, and it weighs around 3700lbs, and that was the first and last time out with the new motor.  I'm in the process of re-doing the suspension, Goal is 11.50's since we don't want to cut the car up and put a bar in it.
