'67 Cuda numbers
« on: January 30, 2007, 11:41:39 AM »

Hi all,
I have several B bodies, but am new to this site and new to A bodies so here goes.  Is the shipping order number stamped somewhere in the rear of a '67 Barracuda fastback ?  There are no markings on the trunk rail (where they are on a B body).  Were they stamped elsewheres on an A body or did they just skip my car ?

Thanks

I seem to recall them being stamped on the trunk rail of the fastback I sold last month, but I'm not 100% positive.

i dont think they were stamped on the body before 68; only on the fender tag........

No, the SO number is stamped on 68-earlier (not sure how much earlier, though).

i had a 67 cuda body here, and couldnt find the numbers anywhere. there was the vin on the hinge pillar, and the  "sequence number on the fender tag........all my 68s have it stamped on the trunk lip and core support........69s have part of the vin stamped in these same spots......i seem to recall reading about  a law that was passed for the 68 model year, requiring the bodies to be stamped. it all had to do with auto theft and chop shops.

I'll have to check Jeff's Dart. He's got the Barracuda with him so I can't check it.

I found the shipping order number stamped into the core support, but nothing on the trunk rail.  Just wanted to be sure I was looking in the right place.
