installed a lokar e-brake this morning
« on: February 11, 2007, 03:45:41 PM »

seems like a nice piece, went in pretty smoothly, cutting the cables to length took a little effort and time though.
now i can bust out some 180's.(sometimes necessary for u-turns Wink)I also like the safety of having the brake easily accessable.

very nice.    Im assuming youre not going to be running a center console?  Ive been sitting here thinking about how I could encorporate that nicely into mine without having to hack up the console thats already there

not sure Ive come up with one yet

none the less, well done

no console,i am going to cut a piece of leather and make a boot and maybe lace it up the side, kinda like a shoe.this technique would work for a console, you would still need to cut a large hole but a leather boot connected to the bottom side of the console around the cut lines(instead of the floor)would fill it in nicely.

the lever was around $80,the cables were around $129 which kinda sucks cuz i only used half of it.if they made different lengths i prob. could have saved a couple bucks.they also sell a cable without the braided cover for less. It's pricey but i like it and it's nicer than throwing in a lever from a datsun or something

Thanks.
I've got good cables from each side. I just couldn't mount that old lever under the dash. I could use a single cable to that nice lever, wonder if they make that(?)

a trip to the hardware store and some creativity should do it(pullys and screws).the trick is putting a bolt between in between the cable and lever so you can fine tune the adjustment by turning the bolt.

You wouldn't happen to have the part numbers of the cables and handle would you?  I am going to do this to the Scamp.

lokar has only one style of floor mounted e-brakes,should be easy to find at summit or jegs
