ok my dart im building to handle on the street .. its gonna be a 4 speed with manual steering .. the problem is my 13 wheel takes alot of rotations turn the car and it being a four speed it gonna be pain to get he car to turn while shifting with one hand .. so i looking improving my steering ratio but i dont know what way to go .. i can get a either a faster ratio box from firm feel or the pitman arms setup .. i dont know which one would be better for my aplication .. the cost differance doesnt concern me much .. the ratio concerns me i dont want to over do it .. what have you guys ran on the street..?

go with the fast ratio box,the faster pitman arms have clearance problems with some headers.

Hi guys,
Great forum except I cant figure out where to post a question.....Its early and my head is clogged with fumes from last nights wrenchfest. My question is how long shouild the inner shaft be on a 67 barracuda. During dissasembly of my column to shorten, I dropped the inner shaft and it broke the little yellowish plastic thingies so now my shaft telescopes. Don't tell me its junk as I intend to tack weld it in place once I figure out how long it should be. I need the measurement from the splined end to the bottom for a stock inner shaft.
Anyone out there can you help me?
Thanks

Sorry, but I'm just a Volvo guy, and I try not to but in on this forum, but, my 2600# car has a 13" steering wheel and an 18:1 manual steering box. It's fine once I get going, but trying to turn the wheel at a standstill takes a real he-man to turn and kind of sucks. If I put in a V8 I'm converting to a 16:1 power box.
So, I would suggest the lowest ratio possible power box for G-force driving with big front wheels. Just my 2 cents.
