I want to make sure that my rearsprings are square with the rest of the car when I move them in.I'm going off of the front torsion bar cross member back to my front rear spring perches. It is the same 53 1/4 each side .I'm going to bolt on the original spring perches with a 3/4 spacer and use them to mark the new relocation boxes then I'm going to drill them out and run a rod through the old perches and through the new holes in the boxes if this all makes sense? Then tack everything up and weld it together .Is the torsion bar cross memeber the place to start?? Or should I start somewhere else??There is no front suspension on the car and I'm going to use a plum bulb to double check to make sure that things are correct. What are your thoughts?? Thanks

Sounds like a solid plan to me .... are you moving the springs back 3/4" for more tire clearance in the front ?

The torsion bar mount is the best place to measure from. Before you weld the axle tube perches on, plumb bob from the torsion bar cross member to the front of the axle tube making sure all is square.

Using a plumb bob looks to be the ONLY way to measure accurately when doing this. Mine should be done this weekend too.

Tom you mean the new front spring perches don't you? I just got home and haven't slept yet today but the axle pearches rotate around the rear axle there will be very little play there for adjustment front to back. And it wouldn't be back and forth but in away that it would change your pinion angle or the rotation of the axle.I can definatley see checking this but it had better be correct buy then as the front spring perches will be welded in.Is this correct or am I missing something ?? Thanks Blair
