Steering Column Shaft Length early 67 barracuda.
« on: February 14, 2007, 03:15:40 PM »

Hi guys,

Great forum.....Its early and my head is clogged with fumes from last nights wrenchfest.
I am going to rephrase my question as it was confusing to me.  Can anyone tell me what the length of the shaft running through the center of the steering column should be.  This is for a 67 barracuda with an automatic on the floor.  I am in the process of shortening the outer steering column where it protrudes through the firewall.  I dropped the inner shaft on the ground and it popped the yellow plastic retainers loose.  Now my inner shaft telescopes 8" or so.  Can anyone help?

Thanks.
