When I bought my car it had Ugly Fender Flairs someone had put on. I want to put it back to as close to stock looking as I can. I was thinking about welding some brake line into the seam where I will cut it. Does that make any sense I am a Novice at Body Work !!! Anyone have any Ideas or Suggestions Jack [attachment deleted by admin]

If somebody metal-fabbed those you might need new quarters.

I bet somebody makes just a section of metal to just replace the wheel well if you looked. might be worth it to replace just that section. Is it even metal? if it was a kids car it could be a bunch of bondo

Fender flares Reminds me of the van era Anyway, the brake line idea will work fine. My parents' neighbor used that trick for custom exhaust outlets on his Corvair project.

I saw an article where they used 1/2" electrical conduit to redo a fender flair on a 65 Mustang , It looked ok. I was thinking the brake line would be easy to work with and give me a solid edge to work with. I am a Real Novice with this stuff

What does everyone mean by the brake line or round and how does it work? James there isn't anything on a 67 that has a 3/16" round roll on the wheel lips is there?

Just get new 1/4's. you have no idea what somebody did to the metal around it and the body lines to make those work, you might be fighting with it for weeks that way.

No - but it adds strength and rigidity, and the untrained eye usually won't notice the non-factory detail. How does it work? You weld it in place after bending the appropriate countour. Start with a couple tacks on either side, and slowly fill in the bead so not to overheat and distort one area.

I guess you could say I am slipping back and forth to the old days . Years ago I bought a 62 Savoy that had a sacked engine and I put a 413 out of a Chrysler in it and had some Good times in it . It was nothing special but it would beat a 271 HP Mustang by 6 car lengths every time and a lot of other cars too . The car was finished when a 4 ft Cottonwood tree came down in a wind storm and Broke it's back

I had a bit of Rust in the trunk that I fixed up before I did the fender flairs . I thought I would get some experience on something that wasn't noticeable . I doubt anyone would notice it now . I finished it with " Black Rock Guard "
