A Little Weekend Progress, Interior, Engine Compt. Pics.
« on: March 11, 2007, 06:25:56 PM »

Hey All

Well here is my weekend progress. Those of you that have seen my pics before know that my interior was mildew infested. Yuck!!!! Here is a before

After a couple of hours with bleach solution and my respirator on I got to this point.........

As for under the hood, she was lookin' like this.......

Again, with a few hours of elbow grease and a lot of Simple Green..........we got to this.

I also got her runnin', but I am having some difficulties there. I'll save that for the motive topic section.

Thanks for lookin'!

Cheers,

Chris E.

She cleans up nicely! Great score by the way.

Once I got done cleaning under the hood, I hosed the firewall and inner fender wells with WD40 and scrubbed it in really well. Since I WD40'd only 10% of the dirt sticks and it cleans up ten times faster with a quick wipe.

I also use WD40 for deoderant spray as well, it just smells so damn good! But that is another story for another time... lol LOL lol

Hmmmm, WD on the engine compartment. Who'd have thunk? I may just have to try that. Thanks.

68 Val, Where in A-town are you? That is where my family is from Smiley Dad went to Wm. Allen High. Still got a Grandma, Cousins and an Aunt and Uncle out there. Nice town! Hey you got any pics of your 68? I'd love to see 'em!

Put a dehumidifier in the car and shut it up tight for a few days - that might help the mold situation. Dunno

For the future, Tilex works like magic on mildew, and it's not as harsh as bleach so no respirator needed...

I still might yank the carpet out of there or I fear it'll creep back.

Yeah the carpet is definitely coming out. Also I am renting a ozone generator from one of the rental places in town. Hopefully that will do the trick, it still is a bit stinky in there.

I'll have to remember the tilex trick! But then, hopefully I'll never have to do that again!

Simple Green kicks butt! I just tried it on a whim. I worked great. And my engine compartment still smells GREAT Grin
