question about a steering box
« on: March 13, 2007, 07:39:59 PM »

in this ad it says it uses "small sector" piman arms.how many teeth are on a small sector arm?
Is this just the difference from pre 73 and 73 and up models?

I'm not sure of the teeth count off hand but the small sector takes a Moog Pitman Arm. 73 & Later takes Part# K7075, 67-72 takes Part # K7074. Cost is @$45-$55. The only difference I believe between the 2 arms is the position where the joint on the arm attaches. 67-72 attach from the bottom of the drag link and 73 and up attach from the top of the drag link.

I have read that the small sector is 1.11 inches in diameter and the large sector is 1.22 inches (at the spline)  my manual and power were both 1.11 and I was able to swap pitman arms between them when I put the manual in last weekend.  Power box was ball joint stud down, and manual box was ball joint stud up(threads)/
