Mancini SS Springs
« on: March 14, 2007, 06:25:25 PM »

I ordered a set of the SS Mancini springs today. I REALLY hope these will raise the ass-end up a little bit.

Anyone have these?  Did it raise the car at all ?

I have heard that they slant the rear end a bit. How much would you say as measured from the wheel wells?

Why do they do that?

Thanks,

when you launch, it pushes down on the right rear more because the rear end is actually trying to twist, right side down, left up- this way when you launch it will be level and go strait

if you notice when ever you do a one wheel wonder burnout, its usually the left tire that spins, thats why

GKCUDA- Any problems with your car not sitting level with the Mancini springs? What spring did you have before them, and is it higher or lower now? By how much? Which spring do you have, 3000 or 3400lb ?

I believe they are 3400 lb auto springs.  I have the numbers at home.  They sit fairly level now.  The passenger side used to sit higher, but the spring has settled some.  It's actually taken kind of a slight reverse arch just before the rear shackle.  The car sits quite a bit higher than it did with the stock worn out leafs, but I never had those wheels and tires on with the stock setup, so it's hard to say.

They definitely slant the car. I hated the slant, looked really dumb to me, and it was a pretty significant slant. The cool thing was that I didn't know it was going to do that, so I got in touch with them, talked with them for a bit and they sent me another one of the stiff side so that I could level the car. Didn't charge me at all for it. Because of that, I always go first to Mancini when I need a part. They are awesome!

And, with two of the strong springs under it, it raises the back of the car up just right. I love it!

I run the Mopar Performance SS springs on my son's Dart and on my 66 Coronet. The passenger side is a bit higher, but not much in my opinion and I wouldn't run any other leaf springs on my cars.

After seeing how stiff and ruff riding the #3000 springs were on a buddies car I opted for the #2800, Raised the car and ride is about the same as the originals.

Hey, I forgot to mention you can get the same springs from Summit and shipping is $6 extra per spring. You will spend $70 to $80 at Mancini.

Don't see a Mancini SS spring listed for 2800#. Only 3000 & 3400.

I found these for pretty cheap, although they aren't from Mancin. They have the 2800#, and are MP's.

That is a good price, but I'm hearing too many people not happy with the Mopar Perf. springs. The Mancini spring seems like it might be a good alternative.

Well, the springs are on the car.  It  raised the body up 1 inch on each side.  It almost too much --i dont like the jacked up look.

if you get the Mancini rear hangers-THROW AWAY THE BOLTS !  Use the factory ones.   I twisted off a mancini bolt VERY easily.  The inside of the bolt looked like pot metal .     wasnt even steel.      bat

Heres a pic:
