Newest mopar to the family -pic
« on: March 17, 2007, 02:07:01 PM »

We just picked up a 67 barracuda from a really nice guy up in Glendale.   It has 400 motor (230 block) and a 4 speed, disk brakes and 8 3/4 rear.   I thought it was a 383 when I first saw it, only had a E stamped on the pad that I could see, but found the H400 up a little higher.  Goes like stink, but needs some new tie-rods, little scary turning.  He did all the hard work, just needs some paint and finishing touches.  Most complete car out of the bunch.  So my brother has this 67 and I have my 68, both in primer.  Wonder if any locals have seen this car running around, the owner like to boil the rear tires.

Thanks guys.  Here's a couple more pics.  Thankfully the last owner did all the engine bay painting with a nice color.

I like the primer look also, it just doesn't stand up to well.  Plus it absorbs everything, like oily hand prints.

Not sure what my brother wants to do with it. We have enough project cars, still have 5 to go.  This 67 only needs a day or 2 to fix some small things.

Actually, if you resprayed it with epoxy primer I don't think you would have that problem. Of course, if you've gone that far, you might as well paint it at the same time.

This is true, but even if he did that, it'd look real goofy with the blue engine bay and grey/black body...  Tongue

It was a little over.   Rust free arizona cars are really hard to find in arizona.  This is the first one that wasn't a project and ran, that I've seen in about a year.  Went and looked at a 70 charger last weekend,  318, column shift, green on green, with the rear tail panel and left quarter pushed in about a foot.  So bad the driver's door didn't open and the guy is firm on $8,500.  And there wasn't much left of the lower quarters and under the vinyl top, rusty.  Good deals are really hard to find.

Nope, but I've already talked to at least two guys who have multiple 400s for sale at MATS, so hopefully I'll have one in two weeks Cheesy

My friend hasn't bought a 360 yet either, because he's hoping I'll sell him mine cheap once I get that big block  Grin
