Im thinking of running SRT8 rims, what would it take to fit these on my 68 Dart, they are 20x9 and come with 245/45/20 tires, but a lower sidewall is possible. Is it possible with the stock suspension, will i need an alter k? am i dreaming?

those rims are 20", but its a photoshop I did. In reality, the rims may look a lot bigger. i simplay overlayed the rims over the existing rims, i did go a little larger, but in reality it may be even bigger than that. The back shouldnt be a problem, i can either move the springs in, minitub, or change the suspension to coilovers. its the front that im worried about. are there any tricks to fitting larger wheels?

i don't know what it would take to make them fit, but i have one (1) of the exact wheels you have pictured on your car that i will sell you. i paid 200.00 plus shipping. you could use it to test fit. let me know. BTW, they are way bigger then the ones in your photo.................steve

I love the way your car looks! I was going to paint mine Black with the Red Stripe and Red interior, your car is definately Bad-azz, looks great with those wheels, they sort of look like 18's would on that car.

I wish I could say its mine but its not, I just had a pic of a black car and it was a good side shot. Mine will be black though, its at the body shop now. Its also getting the GTS Stripe, and I already have the GTS Hood. I havent decided on interior, I want red but that means I have to change everything else in there too. I have the willwoods up front, its getting them out back when I get her back from paint, should look very similar. I also think they look like an 18" wheel would, If only they made the SRT wheel in smaller sizes

I think the bolt pattern is 5x5 on those rims.. I had a SRT10 rim that was 5 x 5.5, dont know for sure but I dont think it is 5 x 4.5

i know the 18"s off the regular hemi cars are 5x4.5, and i'm almost positive the srt wheels are too.

o doubt it, those are almost 29 inch tall tires all the way around, but those rims are going to have way too much backspace to even fit on the car without a tire on it, no chance with some serious mods

Good work with PhotShop. You had me fooled... I basically just did what you are talking about. I requires a mini-tub job and moving the springs inboard (under the frame rails). I put the details in the Tires/Wheels Combo section. I have enough clearance to go to a 335/30 when my 305's wear out. A 345 is too big for a 10" wheel (335 really is too). A 345 really needs a 12" wheel, cheapest 20X12 custom offset I found was almost $1K each. A lot of extra $ for 10-40mm wider tire. Good luck. It's only a dream until you do it...

All the charger/300 wheels are 5 X 115mm - 4.5"=114.3mm. It's a small difference, and the lugs fit on, but they're offset to the inside of the holes, so the lugs won't seat perfectly. I know lots of guys running them with no problems, but as a company, I could never recommend it for liability issues. I'm working on some projects with the SRT brakes right now and we're going to redrill the stuff for a 4.5" pattern to make sure everything seats perfectly.

o, i stand corrected, they just look like they have a ton of offset, still wont be able to run that combo in the front though, too tall

Thanks. Yes, I've already lowered the rear about 1inch or so since I took the pictures. I was able to raise the front spring mounting locations to the top holes. I still have lots of room to lower it, but I will have to remove leafs or buy different springs. I didn't have the gas tank in when I took the pics, so I want to fill it with gas and drive it around before I make a judgement on lowering it more. I want to get it close to level with a slight rake. I wish now I would have bought the 335/30's, since it turns out I do have the room. Oh well, I'll wear these 305's out soon enough... I'm really happy with the way the DoctorDiff SVT big brake kit turned out. I can't wait to see how it stops. I'm waiting for an appraisal for insurance (along with a little more work).

It is a little tough to get a 9 inch wide rim to fit up front without cutting sheetmetal. The diameter of the rim doesn't matter really, you just need to find the correct tire in order to stay with an overall diameter that fits. I know that 17x8 and 18x8 rims fit just fine. 17x9 will fit with the right tire and the perfect offset so I assume 20x9 would too.
I've mocked up a brake kit with the 14 inch rotors from the new SR8 charger. Looks pretty cool in an 18 inch wheel!
