it's kinda hard to tell what it is, a better picture would be nice, now don't quote me on this but I'd like to say that most of the v-8 a-bodies came with an 8 1/4, like mine, but if it's oraginaly a slant-6 it'll probably have the 7 1/4. Heres a picture to show the diffrence.

After looking at the picture you posted, it is most likely a 7 1/4... 1970 small V8 A body... all indicators point to it

Probably is, my 70 Dart is an original 318 car, and it had a 7 1/4 in it.

Pretty small looking axle tubes, I'd say 7 1/4.

Measure the axle tubes. I believe everything had 3" except the 7.25 and the Dana. My '73 has a 2.76 open 7.25 in it (orig a slant car). I have been beating on it for 5(?) years now with a mild 318 and have not broken it.

7 1/4, a much cleaner 7 1/4 than what came in my car.

Hey 512, my 70 Dart is the same exact as yours! Green on green, black vinyl top, and side molding, same hub caps too!
By the way, my car came with a slant 6 originally, but suprisingly it also came w/ a 741 case 8 3/4... cause it had a tow package, a hitch bolted to the bumper!

If it's puny and asymmetrical, it's a 7 1/4. That's how I always ID them quickly at the boneyard...
