Hi guys, I am looking for a manual steering gear for the Valiant(68). It came with a manual gear that is still in good shape but I would like a faster ratio gear. What gears are interchangable. Would a gear from say a C body cop car fit? What years and body styles gears are interchangable? Oh yeah, where can I get a new coupler for the steering shaft? Are they available anywhere? Thanks

oops... stupid me! I overlooked Steering Gear info in the Tech Pages. Anyway, the gear I have is a six turn (24:1). How much benefit is there to going to a 20:1. Should I just stick with what I have or would the difference be worth the effort of changing it?

A 20-1 will be 5 turns lock to lock......found on V8 cars......will be increased effort to steer while parking.....I always change mine to the faster ratio.......kim..........
