40 years old, married 2 1/2 years, stepfather to two teens, I have a twelve year old daughter who lives with her mother and my wife and I have a two year old son who thinks he's the mayor. My family owns a small emergency generator repair shop that I worked in since I was 15 or so, also worked in an offshore raceboat engine machine shop when I was 18 or 19. After about 22 years in my family's business, we had a huge falling out, so I took a pretty cool job as Critical Systems Engineer for Time Warner and CNN. I make sure CNN is able to broadcast 24-7 by making sure the standby gens and UPS systems are all in perfect order. BORING compared to emergency field service, but at least no one is stealing from me anymore. I remember being toted around in my mom's 65 Tempest convertible and my dad's 69 383 4 speed Charger. I've loved cars, boats, bicycles all my life. Anything I can put a tool to and make it better and faster. If anyone here is ever in Manhattan, go to the Time Warner Center on W 58th St. Go into the TW lobby and ask for Clark Dexter in Engineering. I'll be happy to come down and meet anyone from this site.

I will be 51 this July and I have been a Mopar nut since I was about 12. I have been married for almost 24 years and have 2 sons Ron Jr and Tim. Tim is 18 and just joined the Navy and Ron jr is 21 today so I plan to take him out for a beer tonight. He also owns his mid 11 second Dart. I am a Dodge Master tech and have worked at this dealer for 21 years. I have been an auto tech since 1974 when I graduated high school. I bracket raced a 340 Dart from 1978 (bought it in 1975) to 1982 when I rolled it 6 times and got a helicopter ride to Shocktrauma. My wife has put up my my Mopar madness for 25 years and has been right there for me. After my car wreck in 1982 I got married in 1983 and was out of the Mopar bit for to long as my boys were growing up. I bought a Dart in 1995 and dropped a mild 383 in it and put it on the road in 1997. It ran 12.30's and in 2003 I bought the 63 Sport Fury and sold the Dart to my son Ron jr. He pulled the 383 and we dropped a 400 in it we built and he runs 11.50's with it. Just last year I got my 63 on the road and to the track once and got 2 good shakedown passes on it that came out to 11.70's. I plan to do some tuning and work it down to at least 11.50's I hope. I just went to the doctor last night as I have been fighting alot of pain all over for about 2 years and have been diagnosed with Fibromalagia and Authrithas. It has gotten so bad I take pain meds at least 4 times a day and I really fight to get up in the morning. I was told by the doctor I have to get off my feet all day and not be working and standing on the concrete floor all day. This will be tuff as I have been a tech all my life and am always under a hood tinkering with mine and my buddies hot rods. But thats life.......it is always changing. Ron

I'm russ. I live in Iroquois, Ontario, Canada. I'm 42 & married to an awesome lady for 2 years. Amazingly enough she hasn't kicked me out & understands that the hobby became an obsession when I was still a kid. I'd help my dad do bodywork on cars; still lousy at it though. We like to joke that "chrysler blue" runs in our veins. I have a "65 cuda, and a '73 swinger(for drag) my wife actually still gives me !@#$ cause i'm not out at the track these days. to broke. she even helped build my darts motor. she's a keeper. I don't have any kids, but Sandi has three. (23,25,29) The two boys are married and between them we have 5 grandchildren. They are awesome. The 23 year old is her daughter, and as far as I'm concerned the sun rises and sets(in the shape of a pentastar of course) on her. She's engaged and living in calgary. I'm a stationary engineer(big word for someone who babysits boilers eh?). Been in the same plant for 17 years and a bit. It's not a place I love, but there're worse places to be. My wife and I also serve as a respite family for another family, and I drive for Children's Aid. Not sure I always agree with them, but around here anyway, they seem to do more good than harm. Though I can't really do much to, or with my cars right now, I love the hobby. Most of my friends have come from cars and racing. I thank God for this website. It's the most laid back one I've ever been on, and you guys keep me in touch with things.

I'm 45, married for 7 years, I have a great wife and a dog named Cher. I live in upstate New York. I work for Metro North Railroad as a Machinest. My father got me started with cars when I was about 12, I went to Brooklyn Automotive High School. I had a shop in Bronx, New York called High Tech Automotive and I built some really cool cars there. I tried running the Fastest Street Cars in the early 90s in a 69 Dart, 500 CI B1 but the money was out of control for the regular guy. I still own the car. I also own a 67 GTX 440 4 Speed since High School. I have a 2003, 2500 HD Hemi Pick-Up and some other cars we can't talk about on this site. This is one of the best web sites out there, the people are great. Clinton

I'll be 27 next month, also not married, but have a great girlfriend of 2 years now. Started life in Pheonix, AZ, but have spent the last 18 in Oregon. I'm a technology engineer for a larger computer security company, but have been a shade tree mechanic since I could lift a wrench. Grew up under the hood of my dad's first car, a 67 327 Chevelle. Raised on Chebbies, I fell for Mother Mopar on a Saturday night at the local 1/4 mile dirt track in Cottage Grove. In a field full of Chevy's, one Mopar 360 shined, and won more races that season than any of the chebbies combined. Loved watching that guy drive. It was something to see! After a lot of time wasting and missing out on having my own fun, I finally found my 67 Dart GT almost 4 years ago now. Got rid of my cobra mustang for her, and haven't looked back. Broke the crankshaft a few months later and I've been hooked ever since! She got a paint job early last year, and she'll get her tired 318 replaced with a 360 this summer. Still relatively new to the site, but loving every minute of it! Haven't met anyone, but I purchased a set of slotted wheels from a member here and had an excellent experience! Hope to talk with you guys more on this site and for a long time past now.

Well let's see, I'll be 40 in april. I'm a software engineer by day. I work for Lockheed Martin. The programs I work on are used at the USPS for reading the address on the mail. We preform the OCR and resolve the address to an 11 digit zip code. I've never been married but have a 16 YO daughter. She lived with me from the time she was 2 or 3 till last year when she was 15. We butt heads a lot, someone did not want to let Daddy's little girl grow up. I did my best to raise her and she's a real good kid, I did not do so well with giving her much freedom... Her BF's were afraid of me I graduated HS in 85. Out of Highschool I worked in auto parts. I advanced to Manager of a large retail auto store and in 92 decided to quit and go back to school and earn a degree. I split up with my GF, quit my job, moved home with my Dad and went back to school... all in about 3 months time... talk about a big change up. I never looked back. Currently No GF, no child at home, just me and the dog I've had my current Dart for almost 20 years. The Dart is a never ending project, the first trip down the 1/4 it went 11.91@117 and I was hooked on Drag racing. That was in 90 or 91. I've been changing and refining it ever since. Before that I played with a chally, my first car. I did a little bit of street racing with the chally but never made a timed run.

Hi, my name is Tyson and I live in Gig Harbor, WA.
I am 22 years old and I manage a sandblasting company while go to college at night pursuing Electrical Engineering. Next to working on the car in my free time, I also write. I am finishing up one book right now and starting another, creative expression through making people laugh is as gratifying as my pride in my automobile.
The greatest gift my parents ever gave me was nothing. My life has been an adventure from the start, and I want it to continue this way as I am a firm believer that anyone can do anything they set their minds to.
Also, I was raised Chevy, but I learned there is a gene in me known by the medical world as the 'Chrysler Chromosome' that has put my heart in soul into the love these cars as the greatest American Tradition next to the NFL.
Thanks everyone for their help. I truly feel this is the best community on the planet.

Hi All my name is Quinn I'm a 45 year old firefighter from Toronto. Separated father with two great kids 13 and 10. I'm a former automotive technician having work on the bench for over 15 years. It's only now after being away from the industry for 12 years that I find myself scanning Ebay and classified ads looking for that 68 barracuda fastback that fits both my interest level and budget. My interest everything Chrysler started when my dad brought home his first brand new car, a 68 Plymouth VIP 383 4b. I had a lot of fun in that car it was a great sleeper. Next was my own 69 barracuda small block and later a 69 Dart GTS 4spd that I completely restored then changed to a 440 six pack (both long gone ). I've just recently found this great web site and look forward to conversing with other people with similar interests, and also get new(and old) ideas to help me complete my next project. Cheers NYFDFF

Hi, you all know me as Pedalkisses...I'm 45 years young and was originally introduced to this site via Eldubb440. I grew up in a small Italian town called Hammonton, here in South Jersey. My father was a marine who built stock cars and he would race them at a small speedway towards Atlantic City. He died when I was 4 and my mother married several other motorheads after him. I love going to Bridgeport Speedway to watch my cousins race and my one little cousin was racing Nascar for a while, but now races dirt in Florida. As a child I remember sleeping on the wooden bleachers at Pleasantville Speedway, which is no longer there, and playing in the garage with tools and car parts. I used to invent things from the things in the garage. I graduated highschool and went to nursing school. My mother wanted me to marry a doctor, so I did. We divorced about 5 years ago after 20 years of marriage and about 4 years ago I met Eldubb. I like hanging in the garage, a bit different from the lifestyle that I was used to having. I was always surrounded with AMC cars, my first being a GremlinX. I have two boys, 14 and 15, and a dog, who will be a year old next month. I want a mopar of my own and I want a certain kind of mopar, so Mark (Eldubb) is making that happen for me. I also sell real estate and I'm in the process of switching offices right now. I work weekends at night with my nursing career and I usually sell real estate during the week. I don't like not making money, so I keep myself pretty busy. I like to do so many things as this lifetime is so short. My poor kids get nothing but "exposure". I forgot to mention that I am not computer savey and I am trying to post a pic that is too big...since I can't shorten it, here is an older pic...with Eldubb, me and our doggy angel, Scoobie...

Hello, Ken here......born in 1939 and spent most of my life in the Baltimore area. Married for 21 years now, first marriage lasted 17 years. I started my career turning wrenchs at a transmission and air conditioning speciality shop. I did mainly AC repairs and some installations. In 1970 I gave up the wrenchs and became the buyer of all parts for the shop. This got my in contact with various manufacturers. In 1977 one of the manufactures of replacement AC parts asked me to come to work for them. Through various company sales and asset trades I ended up moving from Baltimore to St. Louis and finally to Keller,Texas. Companies that I have worked for are Murray Corp. (Hunt Valley,MD), Moog Automotive, Cooper Industries, and Federal Mogul (St. Louis, MO) and Four Seasons div. of Standard Motor Products (Lewisville, TX). I retired in 2003 and decided cold weather and snow is not where I want to retire too....so here we are in Spring Hill, FL. and life is good. I did pick up a part time job at a local country club golf course working in the pro shop......15 hours a week......free lunch and free golfing goes with the job. I was a GM guy until September 29, 1971 when I took delivery of my 1971 Dart Swinger, which I ordered back in July. I had to special order the car because I wanted the top painted white. To this day I have never seen another Swinger with a factory two tone paint. The car was a factory 318 w/904 trans. and a 7-1/4 rear. Over the years I have had a 360 w/727 trans. and a 8-1/4 rear and now of course the 440 w/727 trans and the 8-3/4 rear with 3:55 gears. My step son keeps saying how nice the car would look sitting in his garage.....but after 36 years I've got rather attached to my red and white Swinger.

Chicago where they filled in a marsh to put homes so's the people who worked at Republic Steel, Int'l Harvester, US Steel & South Chgo industries could all live in the city limits, oh, the cops too. this little part is called Hegewisch, right on Calumet Harbor. gradeeated HS in 1975, while working at Scrap Corporation, 127th & Stony Is ave was diagnosed w/Mutiple Schlerosis. Reputation, being the only thing to have, & 3 of the toughest SOB'S in town living on my block, well, i had to be 1 or the other so i became Crazy Man, just dare me & i'd do/attempt it, was gonna die crippled up from the MS anways. scared alot of wanna-bees back straight,w/my DeathWish, but it also broke/dislocated alot. then on to American Shipbuilders on the East Side & 2nd apprenticeship. was working the night richard speck started his infamous night of terror in the bar across the street. acoupla 3 yrs later, the mills closed, jobs dried up,& unemployed, got offered a job at a gold mine in AZ, so's it's west i go to live in the mountains & play w/cyanide & explosives, me & my death wish. then on to californiato Avery Int'l Research Center w/radiation equipt & radio frequency driers. then on to sister co. of Apple Computer to work on switch building machines. back to AZ where i continued in heavy equipt & truck maint/rebuilding, resulting in more dislocations & 2 rotator cuff surgeries. somewhere in there about 88 or 89 i bought a 67 dart w/nothing in it but a rotteweiler, but the dog stayed w/his owner. got it 98% completed, won some 2nd places in show & got T boned for my efforts. found and it all started again. in my travels somewhere i lost death wish, got my other half to join me in 85 (and she's still by my side although i think she's just hangin around to see what's gonna happen next) The Lord does work in mysterious ways & He does have a sense of humor!!!

It's really great to "meet" all you guys and gals. These "computing devices " sure make it a small world, don't they. I've always found that Mopar people were a close knit bunch. By keeping up to date on events through these forums, I'm sure some will meet some....sometime. For anyone that's interested, we have four major race weekends here in Sydney, N.S, Can. Come on up for a week and have some fun!!!

My name is Gary Courtney, 41 years old, married 23 years, same wife, 1 son, 1 daughter and a driveway and garage full of Mopar. My dad was a big Mopar guy as far back as I can remember. I started learning some in 1969 and it's just snowballed ever since. Like most folks, I've had dry spells. I retire from an Active Duty job in the National Guard in 3 years. I've been to the Nats a few times and the local shows around MO. St. Louis is the best around here. I'm pretty new to this site, but just like the hobby, I can tell this is a winner. I wish I could have had the magic barn to store all the muscle cars in that I've owned. Almost all were sold to get the next one, though. That's what I enjoy the most. The constant search, building, testing and then the itch comes to do it again, but different/better. I have noticed most of us are able to spend more car money in our late 30s and up to mid 50s than the guys who get their feet wet, like we did at younger ages. That has helped make the wait more worth it. Best of luck to all of you guys!
