Real neat kit guys ! Looks like all I need to switch out the leafs on my Dart is that shock upper crossmember and the lower mounts . Oh yeah, and the coils for my Afco shocks that I bought from Bill earlier. Again nice job ! Chryco [attachment deleted by admin]

Bill, Joe, Nice work! So I see from the pix that the outer links bolt up to the stock location were the front spring hanger is located, and that anything that was rear of the axle has been eliminated (ie: leaf springs, shackles, etc.), that is a cool set-up. Are there going to be any additions such as a "pan hard bar" option? Bill your set-up is something I may want to install sometime soon, how's it fit on the 67-69 A-body Verts? Any difference's? I'm asking because I was planning on putting disk brakes on the rear 8 3/4 axle, but also thinking about doing a spring relocation, getting my leafs re-built or new ones ordered, along with mini tubing it, so I can fit some wider tires on the back. My rear suspension is all in the stock location, the only items I've added is the rear sway bar and an adjustable pinion snubber that is adjusted all the way down and it still sits on the underside floor pan, So that is why I was going to get my leafs rebuilt or order a new set. I was wondering how much more tire can be gained with your set-up versus doing a leaf spring relocation and minitub? I would also like to know a price comparason also if any body on the board can help out with breaking down the price of moving the springs inboard and doing a minitub. I figiured it would break down to something a little like this. 1.) spring relocation kit. = x-amount of dollars2.) new spring perches = x-amount of dollars3.) new or rebuilt leafs = x-amount of dollars4.) sheet metal to do the centers of the mini tubs after cutting the inners wells in half and relocating them. = x-amount of dollars5.) prep & paint work on an already painted car. = x-amount of dollars6.) someone to relocate the exhaust out the back out from underneath the frame rails. = x-amount of dollars7.) and maybe a person who can do the welding since I'm not that great at it. = x-amount of dollarsIf I can get a break down It would be much easier to make the decision. pix of my "legally a 1967 Dart GT Convertible" below Thanks, oh and sorry about re-directing your post Joe.

this semi triangulated setup shouldnt need a panhard bar, if im not mistanken, the angled top links eliminate most of the side to side movement, im not quite sure on this, maybe somone else could help clear it up-
how much different is the minitub mods for the convertable?
you might want to also consider some super heavy duty subframe connectors due to the converterable, that thing will twist alot more than a hardtop, with a bigblock
which sway bar is that clonvertable? and how do you like it?

Those seam to be a nice size, that would be 27.8" tall and 10.8" wide across the tread, right? How adjustable (up and down) is the link system? (in inches) 2", 3", 4"? I'm asking because the wheel wells on the verts are shorter in height from highest semi-flat-curved point to bottom of well. (see the pic above I posted of the inner well from the trunk) Thanks, Shawn

That's a really nice kit Bill, are you going to come out with a kit for the early As? If you plan to have one coming out within the next year, then I'm going to wait for it rather than swap out my old springs/shocks/bushings.

So how well does the kit work for setting up the pinion angle for the rear? from the looks of it the stock spring mounts whould do a good job of doing it themselves. How hard do you think this would be for someone with average skills at wrenching on cars? So no bolt in on that top bar ether? a must be welded part?

Hope you plan to put some slicks on there and give us some drag strip reports Joe Research and development you know i'm in on a track rental at atco raceway on my 7th. so we will how it works then.. i'll have pleanty of pics.. .. (see the pic above I posted of the inner well from the trunk) Thanks, Shawn i'm not sure if the 10.8 is the tread or the sidewall to sidewall.. either way they look big under my car.. just gotta buy a set of my own one of these days.... the height can be adjusted quite a bit... from what i understand you don't want to go too far off of the center of travel on the shocks though.. but you can probably have a 3-4" range that it can be..

the pinion angle will take about 5 minutes to adjust.. all you do is make the upper arms longer or shorter as needed...

That really looks like a nice setup. Moving the springs in front of the rear, how much does that change the ride and is that a positive change? My Roadrunner currently has a 10" slick under it, how much bigger can you go with this setup. Yeas I read you use a different setup for B-bodies. What does that look like and are they available? Is there a stated pionion angle that must be achieved or does the old spring mount lock you into that angle? If you already have added frame connectors to that crossmember, is there still room to mount your forward eye brackets? Last question: What does this system weight versus the leaf system you are removing? Thanks again for the awesome pics and great work!!!

Should have it this week. I think we're dropping off the parts to the powder coater tommorow, so it'll probably head to you on wednesday or thursday. Now that we know it fits something other than my own test bed I'm comfortable to send the others to be coated...

Will it work with my relocated springs, 315/35/17 tires and a Dana 60? Let me know so I can order one up... Just when I thought I was done with the rear suspension...

Well I'm hopefully hauling the dart home this summer that is if I can sell my pos racecar. Then it'll go to a buddy's place where we'll start working on it. he's building a drag car in the same workshop. Gonna be sweet. Of coarse when I get to the suspension it'll all be Bill's stuff because from what I can see it's great stuff.
Another question tho. Did you guys see how high up the axle can travel til it hits the frame? When i start work on my dart to try and get it to lay frame I'm going to basically cut all the sheetmetal out around where the tires are and see how my clearences are I'm going for the frame resting on the ground. with air bags

Bump.. Just curious. Would the lower link just bolt to the box where the front spring eye bolts to? If so does that push the coilovers even further inboard? Just wondering how it will handle with the coilovers that far inboard? Doesn't seem to have as much room as the 8 3/4? [attachment deleted by admin]

Whats the advantage besides bigger tires w/o mini-tubbing & saving weight from leaf springs?Looks very Chevelle-like to me.1800 bucks & 400 bucks for S/S springs & relo kit is quite a bit different. Not trying to be a smart alleck, just want to know. BANG PER BUCK is high on my list for my project.I do realize the adjustments for instant center are a plus.
