Engine Diapers
« on: April 02, 2007, 08:51:43 AM »

With all of the rule changes going on and many tracks mandating Engine Diapers on faster cars.  Has anyone tried putting one in with a stock style suspension and stearing?  Also, will they fit with the alter-K system?  Thanks for any information.

they won't fit with the stock steering unless you have one custom made. then it probably won't pass tech because of the hole for the steering.

Thanks for the input.  From how my clearances looked I didn't see any way to do it with stock items.  I am still hoping that someone who's tried this with the Alter-K will weigh in.

So with that being said we can't run that fast via power adder then due to the placment of the engine/diaper.  Not cool.

Unfortunately.

Guess they'll kick me off.  I don't remember the rule, but it was somewhat of a slower ET like 11.50's wasn't it!?

I got home too late last night to look at my new rule book, but I hope to look tonight.  It's too bad IHRA and NHRA are so concerned with selling rule books they won't post them on-line.

for a few billion $$$$$$$$ if you are using a front sump pan with stock steering you can have them custom made and some place a saw them molded out of kevlar also. the et is 10 flat and quicker they will be needed.
