i keep hearing of putting a clamp on the leaf springs, were does it go and does it really help? and one have pictrures of this? or do i just not know what i am talking about

You put a clamp at the end of each leaf in front of the rear end. It helps stiffen the spring on lunches.

do i just get spring clamps from the local napa or what would i use?

I've always made my own. 1/4" X 1" wide flat bar on each side with holes drilled in the ends with bolts holding them together.

I was just thinking the same. I have a couple old trailer leaf springs that I could cut and drill. done and done for the cost of the bolts.
