Well, well, well, tell me is it bad Kharma or just a mega brain fart? Had a guy putting the 440 in the Demon, I'm at work. when i get off i go by to see the progress, engine is covered and sitting in front of the car. car ain't got no engine in it, I get out and the guy comes out and meets me, "how's it going?" i ask, not good He says, why's that?, i ask, He say's We DROPPED THE MOTOR!. Well it turns out the chain broke, thankfully nobody got hurt and they had just pulled it back from the car to reposition the chain,so it didn't damage the newly painted engine compartment. to make a long story short, the pan and pickup is about 2 inches tall I have a center sump low profile Milodon, but i don't think it will work, anybody know for sure?, i don't have another 440 abody pan and pickup, anyone got one for sale?

I'm thinking the guy that dropped it should be finding a oil pan!

You can break a proper sized chain if it's twisted around on itself. all it takes is one link to slip back to where it should be and the whole weight would break the chain. At least thats what they tell me at work.

Wow. I would guess the pan absorbed the blow, but absolutely chech the bottom of the block for cracks. If I had to let someone else do my install, I'd probably lend them a suitable lifting rig. I can't remember the last time I used a chain.
