The top plate for my 4sp console has some minor pitting and I was wondering if anyone has had them refinished?
Would it need to be redone by someone like Quality Plating or is just a matter of cleaning it up and reapplying the argent paint and the black stripe?

If the console is plastic, or even white metal, you can strip it of old paint and apply a very light coat of fiberglass putty. Sand that smooth and apply the argent silver over a good primer, It should look like new. I did the same thing with pitted door handles and I painted them to match the color of the car. Cost me the price of the putty and hardner, maybe 40$, getting them rechromed was $400.
