Man this stinks.  That was one of the best features of the site!  Actually, I think that is what pointed me to in the beginning.

What sort of problems, other than the typical bone heads that for whatever reason cannot seem to understand that a price, and location is needed when they post?

I'm not upset at you Bill, it is just disappointing that it was abused to the point of shut down.  Is it not possible to watch IP addys and keep the trash away?

If you are doing it manually, yes.  Seems like there should be a way to have a script "authenticate" the IP address.  If it is on the "bad" list, do not let the post occur.  Obviously the bad list needs to be marked up manually, which I can see as time consuming if there is a lot of badness occuring.

Either that or bump the post limit to say 100, to keep the posters honest and a real member of the site.  I'm sure you guys have thought about this sort of thing already... sorry.

Well i guess it's totally up to the board owner, i do like the idea of having at least 100 posts qual to be able to post an ad, or maybe a minimum time on the board, which would be better since that would keep people from just one word posts to qual for the classified section. anyway, it was great while it lasted, but it's not the best feature of this site, in my opinion it's the help and knowledge.

Please don't take this the Wrong way, But is it just me or is The sites  enthusiasm dying out, First We lose Jokes , then Monthly feature, Now this ? And quite frankly, lately the site seems to have a Negitive feel, heck even Pinke left fro a while. Its a shame as its my favorite Dodge Site. But its startng to feel Cold around here.  I hope all is Ok But only time will tell i guess. Maybe Bill could  Delegate some more jobs out so he could maybe get a bit of a break and we could keep some of these features.

A lot of it has to do with attitude and certain folks who feel it is THEIR RIGHT to post on a site that is owned by somebody else. If they were more appreciative they might actually feel a need to follow the rules.

  all of those were axed because of complaints...      the jokes section constantly had people bitching to bill and the mods about one thing or another, the monthly feature is allot of work to put together and i'm sure bill has allot more to worry about then updateing that but people had to start posts about that almost on a weekly basis and now the classifieds..  guys wern't following the sinple directions and we were getting complaints..  thank the few idiots out there for losing those sections...

I am NOT speaking for Bill, as he is VERY capable of expressing his own feeling, but in my own humble opinion, I believe that it's a combination of established members not following a few simple rules that Bill put in place for these three fourms AND having to put up with LOTS of new unknown folks using B.B.D. as a way to sell their stuff with  no plans of becoming a real member who would also contribute on other forums. I am also pretty sure that he is SICK AND TIRED of seeing all of the "I've been ripped off by" posts and seeing and having to deal with all of the crap that happens when people s business dealings go bad.

So what it all boils down to is this, Bill can GIVE us the right to buy , sell and trade on HIS web site and Bill can TAKE AWAY our right to buy, sell and trade on HIS web sight and after asking us ALL very nicely OVER and OVER and OVER without any results, he has exersized his right to make changes to HIS web site, to fix the problems that were caused by those who ignored him when he asked nicely.

It's REALLY a shame, as I personally have a project in the works that I was going to produce with a good friend of mine and then offer to our members here and I have also recently met a gentleman who is reproducing VERY high quality taillight, parking light and many other gaskets for A, B, C, and E-Body cars, that I have invited to come to B.B.D to introduce himself and his product line to all of our members here, but I guess with this new development, these kinds of new and improved parts for our cars that we need so badly, will have to be introduced on other Mopar web sites and that's a shame, as B.B.D has an AWESOME membership, who will now have to go elsewhere to find the parts and supplies needed to keep our cars alive and well.........

Richard, I'm not going to speak for Bill, but I think there's nothing wrong with NEW PRODUCTS being announced in the general section. Classifieds don't work well for them anyway. The ad disappears from the front page too quickly. At least in the general section there may be some discussion.

Well said.  Mine too.  I also do feel a few technical additions could help mitigate some of the problems.  I am not trying to stir the pot, and do understand what it takes to manage this sort of thing, so Bill, Jim, and Joe don't  me.  It is really sad that there are so many disrespectful people out there that ruin the privileges for everyone.

I have noticed the negative undertone.  I don't think this has anything to do with the site per se, but more what is going on in this country lately.  Some people think it it is necessary to post inflammatory remarks, because it is their right to be able to abuse the first amendment on an open forum.  But, that is obviously not for me to judge.  It would be nice if everyone would think before they "speak", but that is simply not the case.

All the mods here, work hard and fast to cleanup the sitewhen needed. The arguments and complaints, would wear me thin too. I'm happy the site, has what it has, but if a lighter load is needed. I'm sure everyone here UNDERSTANDS. Sometime change hurts, but it always
works out. Never say Never...The adds may come back

Sorry! That Mr Reilly, is closing the trading store. It was great too have access to so many parts and also help too give ideals as to how much something is really worth. My purchases from other members was great, I think being a member of this site had everything too do with that.Everything I offered too sale I always posted a lower price on this site, than I would locally!   Hoping it will work itself out for the better!!    Thanks!  Mr Reilly
