flyboys garage door story remined me of a guy here that owns a frame shop that services large trucks . One morning he was the first person there and proceeded to open the 14 foot doors( on electric openers) He pushed one button ,headed to the next door squeezing(with his back to the door) between the opening door and a truck that was parked close to the door. AS he did that a bracket on the door snagged his belt and took him up. Thats how the next employee who showed up for work found him ,dangling but unharmed.

I moved recently and had to tow my Duster to her new home(no eng, trans, OR BRAKES)...mostly uneventful b/c it's all uphill. Got to the new driveway and wanted to take the turn wide, but there was a car coming the other way...so what did I do??Slammed on the $##%^^E# brakes...BANG!!! Corner of the Duster's r/f fender slammed into the steel bumper on my truck!! My buddy got oout ,looked at me and said  "WTF is wrong with you?"

magarts story reminded me of the time back in high school when some friends and I had stripped a 54 ford for parts then needed to tow it to a junk yard located on the other side of a high ridge from our house. we had put a junk rear end in it and hammered the brake lines closed leaveing us with front brakes only. the hood was set on the car held by the front safety catch only. when we reached the top of the ridge my friend and I who were in the towed junker deciided it would be fun to coast down the hill to the junk yard. we took the chain off and started down, at about 45 mph to hood started float up . I hit the brakes, the hood came off the car and lodged under both front wheels leaving us with niether brakes or steering. So there we were watching the scenery go by until we hit a guard rail that kept us from going over a embankment.

Ionce owned a 74 buick century with lots of carb trouble it always had sinking floats it would fill the intake manifold to the top with fuel . so smart me decides ill start the motor with the carb off to clear out the fuel and then rebuild the carb .   baaaaad idea the thing reachead 8000 rpm or higher in a second with no throttle blades on the carb to idle it so it scares the hell out of me and i shut it down.
after the engine slows abit it backfires through the intake blowing raw fuel and fire flying all over the fall leaf coverd garage doors and floor . now running like hell looking for the fireextinguisher i never find   the garage doors are aflaming the buicks aburning im kicking leaves out stomping like crazy i finaly put it out. sweat pouring from me i sit down to think abought what happened and sit on the new carb kit and break the float . closed garage went for a beer . I was 18 then ive learned to be alittle safer since then.

 agree
My roomates parents let me borrow there brand new garage ..newly bought house actually.
well the floor had carpet Dunno and two 57 chevybelairs in parts and scatterd allover the garage so to say there was a lot of value in the shop..Well I brought my truck in so I could plop in a new motor, there is no hood and a nasty quadrapuke with leaky throtle shafts and a fractured acelerator cable. the doors are down because its freaking winter in the northwest ..well its got a good vent so I figured I will crank on the vent and do a quick fire just to tease..well no air cleaner a throttle cable that fractures and pinches it fully open..bad timing being dirty chevy motor for a quick fix results in a chevy  mistake . well there was an hei installed from previouse owner and he wired it on a constant switch. Well you can see where this going I created a fire breathing monster that brakes unkowingly..carpet caught fire within seconds under the truck..and a big ass vent to speed it up.  ever see a guy beating the crap out of burning carpet and engine bay..with there hands, coats, antifreeze soaked rags to every inch of your life...well I stoped the fire and walks in my friends dad in a smoked filled room thinking his belairs were burning to the ground  explode. I was 18 aswell
