So lets have a little fun with a recipe topic. The ingredient today is beer. Name meals that you either love to have with an ice cold beer, or that actually use beer in the ingredients.

And, while we're at it, sound off on your favorite beer to go with said meal, as well.

Call me stupid, but a nice pizza and a Coors Light suit me just fine...oh wait that's my typical diet here at college.  A t-bone is a nice with a coors light, or Rolling Rock.  Or if your going for beer as an ingredient, beer-cheese soup is always good.

Pan seared NY strip steak, steak fries & Ketchup, with a ICE cold corona.

As far a non-real beer, Dog & Suds Root Beer is the best anywhere! Been a long time, but I just can't find it anymore.

BTW, marinate a steak in Bud with some chopped garlic for an hour or two, then rinse the steak off with some more beer (don't leave any garlic on it, it will burn), season with Lawry's, and cook on a gas grill (douse any flame-ups with some beer in a squrt bottle.

Also, add a can of beer for every gallon of chilli you make.

Mix a little beer with BBQ sauce for chicken cooked on the grill.

this is kinda funny. I don't really drink anymore, but I'll get a Sam Adams with real good seafood. Since I'm not a drinker, my wife has to remind me to keep beer in the house for my friends helping me with the construction project. We bought a 40 pack of Sam Adams Boston Lager at Costco. Last Sunday, my friend Loose Bruce was over helping me put a bay window in the front wall of the living room and my lovely wife brought us home a pizza for lunch. She reminded me to get Bruce a beer, I brought in one for each of us. We said, "Damn, this was delicious, lets have one more". After I finished my second one, I actually got a little loopey (I can't remember the last time I had two beers back to back). My two year old son was complaining because the disposable camera he was playing with wouldn't flash anymore since he used all the film, so I tried to open the camera to trip the reset for him so it would flash again. I hit the capacitor and got whacked right on the tip of my middle finger. I almost went through the ceiling. My wife said "No more beer for you, get that window in". SO... I learned this: If you ever need a makeshift stun gun, grab a disposable camera.
oh yeah... Pizza, seafood and a Foster's at Outback with a big ass steak. I used to like this beer called Crimson Voodoo at my favorite Cajun restaraunt. RIP Big Daddy's.

Flyboy, I never heard of that root beer, but if you have Trader Joe's near you, you could try Virgil's. I think it's damn tasty.

BBQ Drunk Chicken

Take a can of beer, any beer you like

Take a whole frying chicken, wash it, season with your favorite chicken rub...

Pop open the beer, and insert can into chickens cavity keeping chicken legs down in an upright position, using flat bottom of can to help you keep the chicken standing, and place in a shallow roasting pan...or tie several together...and place in a larger pan.

Stand chicken in a Weber grill, cover and roast for 1 hour....(Drink several beers of your choice while waiting for chicken to cook), the beer will boil inside the can and cause the steam to tenderize the chicken...It will be moist and Oh So Good...I've done this several times and always got excellent results....Try it...You'll love it... Take the rack out of your regular gas grill, set the pan right down on the rocks, but turn your grill way down to low, check chicken at about 1/2 hour to see if it's done...use a meat thermometer and get it to 160 degrees....

Oh man, a lot of these sounds good, I definitely need to try the beer in the chili and the beer chicken ideas. The bread sounds interesting as well, I'll have to find that somewhere...

My favorite beer meal is just a classic home-made backyard BBQ burger. Extra juicy so there's juice running all over the place, and a nice, dark beer like Amber Bock or Newcastle to wash it all down. Eat two, but make them one at a time so you can use the bun for the second one to soak up the juices left behind by the first one before making it Tongue

Then there's your classic beer brats with grilled onions, peppers, and mushrooms, gotta love that. Grilled corn on the cob goes well with the brats, too.

Another great compliment for beer is spicy deer sausage, which we usually eat with homemade rolls and peach preserves. Gives you heartburn like hell, but it's worth it Tongue Especially with spicy stuff though, you have to have a dark beer. None of that light stuff Tongue

Beer can chicken. Open a can of beer, dump out (drink) about 1/3 to 1/2 of it, stick it in the big hole in a whole chicken (gutted of course). Stand it up on the barbie (can standing up, chicken on end), and cook slowly. The beer steams the chicken from the inside out so it's crispy on the outside but tender and moist on the inside, and has a slight hint of beer.

Otherwise, Foster's with Italian sausages, cheeseburgers, chicken wings, nachos, pizza. Prettymuch anything. Pretty much any beer is good too. Cheesy

I made Chili last night for a cook-off at work today. I marinate the stew meat in beer and spices. Everybody said they wanted a beer after sampling my Chili.

I won Spiciest and Best in Show! (A bottle of antacid and a Chili's Restaurant gift card)
