weak spark
« on: May 03, 2007, 01:38:54 PM »

hey you guys, i have a little problem with the dart.

there's only 6 volt on the coil when starting and a very weak spark, could it be the problem of no firing the cilinders?

do i need 12 volts when starting and about 9 when idling?

what could be the problem,i changed coils with no luck.....

thanks,

alfred

Is this a mopar distributor? what kinda ignition? Almost every mopar ignition I replace with MSD needs
1) very solid power and ground connections from the battery to the MSD
2) air gap reset to .008. It makes a huge difference in the signal. I had a dist that wouldn't even fire at like .015

hi,it's a electronic ignition with a black ecu from mopar.

air gap is 008

it did run a week ago,so couldn't be a big problem i think Dunno
