Thanks for the pics. LOVE IT! Gonna be a real nice Dart! Was amazed at the size of wheel/tire you have under there, then realized you have the spring perches moved to the frame.
Any one know the widest wheel / tire that will go with that suspension if I don't move my perches in? Bill?? Joe?? Thanks, O.J.

275/50-17... which is like 27.8 x 10.8 ,,,, 5.72 backspace on a 8" rim... they will slightly hit the inner wheel tubs when going into a driveway on a angle though.. not bad though.

Thanks Joe! The Barracuda has a larger around wheel well opening in the rear than a Dart. I'm wondering if I might be able to squeeze a 10" wheel and 11 or 12" tire under there. I would imagine it will all get down to the ride height and wheel backspace / offset. How much extra clearance did you gain between the wheel / tire where the leaf spring was eliminated? Thanks again... O.J.

you know i'm not exactly sure.. i know there is no way the tire would fit with the spring there... the bare rim would fit with like 1/4" space.. i put one of my front tires on the rear of jamies dart they actually fit.. 225/50-17. i think it works out to a 26 by 9 tire but i'm not at home with the calculator site and i don't remember what the tire sice worked out to.... here is her car with the rim and tire on it.. her car is a stock as can be... her it is with the tire. 225/50-17

Thanks for the info Joe. I just went out and looked at the 275-60-15s on the back of my Lil Red. Pretty decent width there. I'll try to sneak more in there if I can, but when it comes down to it, if a 275 is what it comes down to, I think it will be enough. I think I can have fun with that!
If you don't mind, what size fronts do you have? Did you go with the widest that would fit?

the fronts are a 17x8 rim with a 225/50-17 tire on them... from what bill says the 5.72 backspace is too much for a stock suspension a-body.. i'm running the alter-k with wilwood brakes and they just fit under there... djvcuda is running a 225/50-17 on the front of his 66 cuda but with stock suspension (73 style disc) but is running a 17 x 7 rim and a 4 1/4" backspace.. we measured it and a 4 1/2" backspace would probably fit perfect but his wheels only came in a 4 1/4 back space

Joe, I'm running the AlterK also, but will be running Baer brakes. Don't know where the hub face will end up. Initially, I've bought some "take off" Mustang Bullit wheels (I think they're 17x8) with 235-55s for the front. I'm going to use these for mock up to see what I've got for clearance on the front. If they work well, I'll order up the wheel I really want, with the same specs as the Bullit wheel (actually, that Bullit wheel is pretty nice!). Rear, well, I'd order up with the wheel I want, with whatever specs I need to make it fit. With Bill's new rear system, sounds like I could sneak a little more wheel / tire under there than with leafs. I'd like a little wider and deeper wheel on the rear than on the front. Kind of old school look for and old school guy I guess Thanks again Joe... O.J.

man, i wish i could afford the 4 link, in my car it will be 30% road racer, 30% drag and 40% daily driver- yes i will be swapping gears, wheels, bars and other little stuff
so that kit would be ideal for what im going for, i all ready have a set of ss springs and either way i will minitub and relocate, so i guess ill just run the ss springs with a panhard rod for now and buy that in 10 years when i could afford it- i gota stop looking on this awesome site, its making a bigger hole in my wallet

O.J. oh ok cool.. does the bear hubs fit into the rims ok? have you checked out this site? http://www.americanmuscle.com/mustangwheels.html holy cow they have so many different styles and sizes of mustang wheels...

Joe, yeah, I've seen that site. They make (essentially) the Bullit wheel in a deeper dish version that would look great on the back of my car if they would fit and if I were to use these takeoffs on the front. I actually like the wheel quite a bit, but it's pretty well associated with.... well... the new Mustang! Besides, I have my heart set on a different wheel.
As for these fitting on the Baer brakes, don't know because I haven't received the brakes yet. Never occurred to me that it might not fit so thanks for bringing that up. Bottom line I guess will be for me to make sure the final wheel I buy will fit on the Baer hub.
So, given the size of your wheel and tire running on the AlterK, have any clearance issues? Maybe while turning into a driveway, that type of thing? O.J.

So, given the size of your wheel and tire running on the AlterK, have any clearance issues? Maybe while turning into a driveway, that type of thing? the rear tire will hit the wheel tub when turning into a driveway.. its high and on the trunk side of the tub. i've checked the tire over and over and it hasent even marked the tire . i may down the road move the wheelwells in but i'm just gonna leave it for now.... the front tire just catches the front fender at times. its weird it doesn't always do it.. it just barley touches it too... i'm just gonna trim it a bit . you won't even noticed its trimmed unless you know it is.. all in all nothing serious.. normal driving on the street nothing hits,,

Bill, On the earlier post about Abody Joe's ride, you posted there would be an option of fixed bushing type connectors, without the heim joints I'm guessing. Are those available now, and if so, do you have pics? I keep checking your store-front web-site, but come up empty. I really appreciate your tireless engineering efforts! Mark 71 Valiant

The bushing links will actually be here next week. Pics and stuff, I may or may not get to soon - with the power tour and other shows coming up, I'm kind of scrambling to stay caught up. I'm sure I'll post some on here, but I doubt I'll get to update the rms site soon...

with the R.M.S. rear suspension and mini-tubs and the spring relo, could you get some 12.5" wide tires back there?

Don't know about that Demon, I never heard back from him. Tires would depend on sizes and type - in a Dart, if you do the inboard and wheelwells, you'll have about 14.5 or so inches of air space - you should have 1" on each side for clearance, so a 12.5 section width would more appropriate - probably a 10.5 tire would be a real nice fit. I had 28X12.5 MT's on my car, but they did rub a little bit in some intersections.

Don't know about that Demon, I never heard back from him. i heard he was at the modifers atco show carring the wheel for the first 60'. think he went to the finals. he slowed the car down that day though because of no bar. i know he was having a bogging problem but that didn't have anything to do with the suspension.
