I need to swap out the 340 emblems in my '68 Dart Bulge hood to 440 emblems. Anyone know if these MP 440 Magnum emblems will fit and work? http://www.wyckoffchryslerparts.com/4manaem1.htmlIs the Challenger emblem or the Charger emblem the better fit? I don't know the difference between the two and the demensions are not given. I was hoping that someone has - been there, done that. Thanks for the help. John

completely different then your hood inserts. the inserts from those cars are just lettering whereas yours are a long br insert. For replacing those your out of luck.

Could not say about those. I had run the 70 Challenger 383 fourbarrel in the inserts on my 69 383 GTS. I cut off the studs and used emblem tape on the back. The Charger emblems would be to big, but the Challenger emblems should be smaller and fit in there. Dave

You can have a set of custom decals printed on vinyl to fit in the inserts, to finish it off, you can lay down some clear enamel over the top of them and press a sheet of thick acetate over it to make it look factory.

I thought that The Paddock had the 69~emblems for the hoods. Including the 440
68 hood didn't have the engine callout on it, just 4 ovals

All I can find on The Paddock are the Charger hood emblems, same as can be bought from Mopar for 1/2 the price. Do you think the Charger emblems can be made to work?
Thanks, John

To big. go to a sign shop and have them cut some up or use the Challenger ones like said above. Dave

Dartracer,
Thanks, I was confused on which emblem was bigger...
I've sent an email to penstat.com to ask for height and width demensions of their reproduction '70 Challenger "440 Magnum" hood emblems. I guess they should be the same height as the "383 Four Barrel" Challenger emblems that fit into your dart hood. So, hopefully I can make that work.
Thanks, John

The call outs on a Charger are about 2 inches as to where the Callenger ones are around 1 inch.

You can buy the inserts from YearOne that say 440 Four Barrell and insert them in the 69 hood inserts that would normally say 383 or 340. "M" code Darts came with this option. Check out YearOne 69 Dodge A body decals and emblems. Part # VC203 1969 Dart GTS nameplate inlayed in the hood inserts of the limited-production 440 models. $53.00 God I miss my M code Dart!

Did the factory 440 Darts have foil decals applied over the 340 inserts? Were they embossed, and if so, are the Year One's embossed also?

The new Mopar Action or Mopar Muscle has a dart with custom made inserts that say 440 MAGNUM FOUR BARREL that are red and under the clear plastic like the 340 inserts. The article says who made them.

I had missed the last several posts on this thread. I will check out Year One. People always stare at the 340 call out... John

Yup, made the stencil in autocad and printed it backwards on a 1 sided sticky back clear mylar type paper for stencils, then apply to plexyglass and cut out, also you can use a stationary grinder to form the plexy insert. In sequence, cut numbers, paint red or color you want, then cut out background and paint black or color you want, then remove the rest of stencil and apply a metal tape over on the back side, then apply double sided foam tape to the back of the metal tape, place on chrome inserts and your done
