I have been wanting to build a 68 Dart for awhile now, always liked their look. I have found a 67 and will be going to check it out next week. are they the same other than the usual year differences. I.E. marker lights, grill & tail lights?if I wanted , can I install these items off of a 68 on the 67? any other major differences? Thanks, Tom.

Tail light buckets in the 1/4 panels are different and the 68 light will not work without modifying for the deeper bucket of the 68, 67 bucket is very shallow, might be able to put 67 in 68 without modifying other than spacers
Grill should work, headlight bezels must be for year match grill
side markers, cut the holes and put them in
67 bucket seats have hard backs, 68 have safety catch on seats
67 has a one year only idler arm
67 gas tank (single strape a cross center frame rail to frame rail) 68 has 2 strapes front to back
67 rear bumper (back up lights in it) 68 and 69 backup lights in the tail lights
67 dash pad (68 also had pad on the bottom of the of the dash) and 67 shape is different but interchangeable with all to 76
68 head light switch Parking lights stay on with headlights, 67 does not
68 doors can lock and close the door, 67 must use key to lock doors
67 radio is knob, 68~69 are thumbwheel
Many parts will interchange even though they are different as long as you are not making a correct car.
I used the 68 seats in my 67, should have used the 68 door latches and headlight switch
I have a 69 GTS hood on my 67

Dont forget the 67 windsheild and backglass use a different attachment system, so if you get a 67, make sure ALL that stuff is there, they are real hard to find. Besides the style differences, they are very similar cars. It really does not make sense to make a 68 Clone out of a 67, keep it a 67 and keep it unique.

Unless you are doing a '68 Hemi Dart clone I would leave it a '67. Like flyboy says if you don't have the proper trim, hardware and gaskets for the front windshield and rear window, it is popular to install the '68 type in th e'67.

I've never been able to lock any 60s Mopar and close the door. That includes the two 69s I've been around and my 68 GTS.

air ride doesn't make a rear suspension for abodies. I absolutly hate when people do the year swap on darts. You want a 68 buy a 68. don't "steal" a perfectly good restorable part out of the hands of someone with a real 68. I have a grille from all 3 years because my 68 came with a 67 grille and a 69 grille inside the trunk(I'd sell them to anyone who needs them just havn't found anyone who needs one). IMO no one should ever take the grille or taillights off one car and put them on a different year ie 67 on a 74 as one person planned or in your case a 68 on a 67. Theres lots of savable 68s out there and when someone can't find a grille for theirs because someone put one on a non-68 it's just wrong.

yea, your right, air ride DOESN'T make a system for A-bodies.but I just did for a customer's Duster.we can't alway's wait for someone else to build this stuff for us.I will only be buying ONE altercation front suspension for reference, after that, I will build all of my own.as far as changeing a '67 t0 a '68 not being a moral thing to do,I think since the car is an empty shell with none of the year indentity parts with it ,I am doing a greater service by bringing it back to life!

OH PLEEZ! hope you don't have any homemade frame connectors in your car.someone else invented those you know. since Bill invented the tubular frame,I guess Magnum Force and all others are scum bags? I will be buying one from Bill,How many are you going to buy? if I have the ability to build and maybe improve upon a design, why wouldn't I? maybe you like to just spend your money and let someone else build your car's for you, just like my customer's.so be it. keep's me employed.Tom

wow put your foot in your mouth there. You are probably going to end up like many other members who decided to take your approach to other members. I build my own cars i do not pay to have people build them. From the way it sounds if i did pay someone to build my car he'd have to have a WAY better attitude then you. For some reason I can see you being pushy about how your RMS Alterktion wannabe is as good.

If you had any talent, you could build your own without buying someone elses to steal their design. I don't know who you are building cars for, but I would never let you work on my car with that winning attitude, go "F" yourself you crook.
