What do you think about the difference in cost , and actual labor between : Moving the whole axle back an inch or 2 . (whats done with the shackle areas?---how bout the shock mounts?) or, cutting out the front edges of the quarters and re-shaping them . (that includes freakin' bodywork and new paint) Which would you do-------or have done ? A-body of course  |

I'd do the bodywork. if you think about it you may have interference with the gas tank, you'll need a longer driveshaft, and you'll hve to remount the shackles seems like alot of work and Im guessing it may cost he same as getting it repainted.

I have moved them back on occasion, some pads already have three holes in them, cant remember off hand the difference, but there was enough room to clear a 30 in slick.............Be sure to measure your pinion angle before and after as u may need to shim it... u may get away with a longer slip yolk, but a longer shaft is best...........kim....

Forgot about the driveshaft--i just had a custom one built. I vowed to never do bodywork again after my last paint job.............  maybe one more time i guess....... Let me ask this---will a 30" tall tire fit with mini-tub and spring location? Ive already done the mini-tub. |

I moved the rear back an inch. Doesn't look like the Dana 60 I have is gonna contact the tank. If it does, I'll massage the tank a little then. I don't think it'll come to that point.
BTW - I havn't forgot about ya, PM me your number again, I lost it.
