Wow!  That’s great work you are doing.  I have been following your progress and I'm very impressed with what you can get done in a weekend.

I am very interested in how your mini-tubs are going.  That's probably next for me.  How close to the frame rail did you cut your new opening.  Do you have any Pics of the cut before the wells went back in?

Just curious what other people are doing.  Keep up the great work

Thanks!
Sorry, no updates this weekend, worked Friday, went to the fair Saturday and did some ceramic tiles in the house Sunday.
I'm definitely going to finish the tubs this weekend though!
To remove the wells I cut them close to the well itself, made cardboard templates for the floors, marked the floors and cut them right back to the frame rails. Sorry no pics of that.
The majority of the cut is straight and all of that area (about 12" long) is ground down smooth to the frame rail.
You'll end up removing about 2 3/4" of floor along the flat areas.
Then I contoured the curves on both ends with a grinder.

Saturday was one of those days that no matter what I did, I couldn't get a rhythm going.  Huh
All I managed to get done was two pieces of filler strips cut, fitted and tacked into place on the left side.
Sunday was a little better, I got all of the rest filler strips cut, fitted and tacked into place and finished welded inside the wheel well on the right side.
This is going a lot slower for me than I thought it would.  Whew
Maybe next weekend I can finish it, that is the third time I've said that.  \/][

It's been a while since I made any major progress on the Duster but today a friend from work came by and helped me get started on one of the rear quarters.
He showed me how to get it cut, trimmed and cleco'd into place.
I still have to get the outer wheel house hammered back out from where there was a big dent in the rear quarter and get the get the trunk extension installed before it can be welded into place but we made a lot of progress today.
Here are some pics.

Today I got the left trunk extension fitted into place.
It's like a jigsaw puzzle cause it has to fit the wheel well, trunk floor, tail panel, lower quarter plus the three brackets that go in there too.
It took me about 6 hours to get it fitted into place but it turned out pretty good despite my limited skills.
It's all held together with about 30 cleco's.
Here are some crappy pics.

I also scored a Hilborn stye scoop for my tunnel ram today off of Craigslist.
I had to order filter kits for it from Summit but I still only have a little over $100 bucks in it!

I haven't worked on it for over a month. I got fired January 11th and I had to shift my priorities.
Hopefully I'll be able to get back on it pretty soon.
thank you

Looks great man! Wish I had done my quarters that way instead of butt welding them in! When I do the Duster I will...

When you did your wheel wells did you butt weld the new strips in or overlap the metal?  Im going to be widdening my wheel wells on my 72 Dart Swinger.  I just want to know the best way to go about it.  Thanks.

I overlapped the metal by about 1/4" on each side.
I used a flanging tool on the strips so they would lay level with the wheel wells.
