I want to seal and apply some sort of sound and thermal protection on the Demon, what has anyone used sucessfully? Dynamat?. Etc. I plan on adding aftermarket air con to the car and a decent sound system. should i spray undercoat and then the dynamat type stuff. Also, should i apply something to the bottom of the pans and inside the doors, how about the top, or is this overkill.

They say for best results apply it to at least 75% of the panels. This is floors, doors, 1/4 panels, roof, firewall.

Well, West, i'm not concerned with weight, within reason, just want a nice quiet ride with the air on and the tunes playing, this won't be a balls to the wall type car, just a peppy cruzer. ( by the way, that's also the name of the guy that roofed my house :-), Thanks for warning though.

Ive heard good things about Hushmats. thermal and sound deadener. self adhesive. a lot of audio guys swear by em. supposedly they go a long ways towards quieting interior noise while rolling. Im considering it myself, but Ive also seen (something like it) at swap meets but without adhesive....for hella cheaper. a few 3M glue spray cans and youre set. http://hushmat.com/

I've got some sound deadener that I bought for one of my Dusters. I belive the concept is great, but after all the work it took/is taking, to get the rust out because of trapped moisture in the carpets and seam sealed areas, I'm really reluctant to put it in. I can sure appreciate the quiet factor that it will add - but I just can't get over all the hard work - and I do not want to have to do it all over again down the road. This is just me thinking out loud before I do it. Daryl

Well if you prep the metal right first then that's not a problem. I cleaned all the floor boards, firewall, and trunk with a wire wheel then sprayed it all with Por-15, then did the seams, and then painted it all. A big part of it is to also get your car all sealed up tight so you don't get water in it in the first place.
